Choosing the Best LED Lighting Supply Wall Pack for Your Application

LED wall packs are wall-mounted outdoor lighting fixtures that provide high-quality energy-efficient lighting for commercial and industrial applications. These outdoor lights are ideal to illuminate building exteriors, pathways, parking lots, and other outdoor spaces.

They are commonly used for security lighting. At LED Lighting Supply, we stock various LED wall packs in our U. S.-based warehouses. With UL Listed or ETL Listed certifications and many DLC Premium options for utility rebates, our products meet stringent quality and safety standards. Many of our fixtures feature wattage and lumen toggle switch adjustability, allowing you to customize output after installation. Here's how to choose the right wall pack for your lighting needs.

Types of LED Lighting Supply Wall Packs

Understanding the types of wall packs available is the first step in selecting the right one:

  • Full Cutoff Wall Packs

    • Ideal for areas requiring dark sky compliance or where light spillover is a concern
  • Non-Cutoff Wall Packs (Flood or Forward Throw)
    • Distribute light down and outward for maximum coverage
    • Commonly used for security lighting and wide-area illumination
  • Semi-Cutoff Wall Packs
    • Blend features of full and non-cutoff designs
    • Provide some forward throw while reducing light pollution by approximately 50%
  • Dusk-to-Dawn LED Wall Packs
    • Equipped with photocells for automatic operation, turning on at dusk and off at dawn
  • 250W and 400W Equivalent High Output Wall Packs
    • Replace traditional 250W or 400W metal halide or high-pressure sodium fixtures while maintaining equivalent brightness

Energy Savings and Return on Investment

Our LED wall packs deliver substantial cost savings through reduced energy consumption. For example, replacing 20 traditional 400-watt metal halide fixtures with 150-watt LED wall packs, which operate 12 hours daily, provides impressive savings.

At $0.13 per kWh, the annual energy savings total $2,847, with total savings of $57,154 over the 20-year LED lifespan. This represents a 73% reduction in energy costs.

Maintenance cost savings add even more value. Over the LED fixture's lifespan, you'll save approximately $8,000 in maintenance costs for the same 20 fixtures. This includes elimination of bulb replacements, ballast changes, and associated labor costs.

Combined with energy savings, the total return on investment typically occurs in under 1 year.

Specifications and Available Options

Our wall packs are available in multiple wattages ranging from 15 watts to 150 watts, with many featuring toggle-adjustable wattage and lumen output. For color temperature, 5000K is our most popular choice and an excellent replacement for metal halide fixtures. 4000K works well for replacing fluorescent lighting. If you can't decide on color temperature, we offer toggle-adjustable fixtures that allow you to select the preferred color temperature after installation.

You can choose between forward throw (no light restriction), full cutoff and semi-cutoff. Full cutoff is the best option for dark sky compliance and facade lighting, where forward throw is the best option for security lighting and pathway lighting. Semi-cutoff is a happy alternative to both of these combined

Motion sensors provide additional energy savings opportunities, while photocells ensure lights turn on and off at appropriate times. We carry all common mounting options for both indoor and outdoor fixtures and can match your existing mounting systems. Since LED fixtures reduce amp load compared to traditional lighting, there's no need to upgrade your electrical panel.

Certifications and Quality Standards

All our LED wall packs carry essential safety and performance certifications. UL Listed and ETL Listed certifications ensure electrical safety and code compliance. DLC Premium listing qualifies fixtures for maximum utility rebates and demonstrates superior energy efficiency. These certifications provide peace of mind and often reduce insurance costs while ensuring your installation meets all local building codes.
