What Are LED Lighting Supply's Class 3 Wood Poles?

Wood utility poles that are used to support distribution lines, electric utilities, and other hazardous components are engineered to meet stringent safety standards. Our strong and durable class 3 wood poles are lighter in weight than class 1 wood poles and class 2 utility poles. This eases installation efforts and ensures that lineman can climb the pole for maintenance without additional equipment. Pole classes protect the safety of utility contractors, linemen, and patrons.

A pole's class is defined using the American Wood Protection Association (AWPA) and American National Standards Institute (ANSI) guidelines based on the pole's load-bearing capacity, length, height, and other factors.

Top Benefits of LED Lighting Supply's Class 3 Utility Poles

  • Various wood species, such as Ponderosa Pine and Southern Yellow Pine (red pine alternatives), sourced and manufactured in the USA
  • CCA pressure-treated wood utility poles deter insects, limit decay, and constitute a longer service life
  • Treated wooden poles provide a low-maintenance solution in various environments
  • A low price, economical choice for utility and parking lot projects
  • Direct burial wood pole installation reduces equipment and overall project costs
  • LED Lighting Supply's wood utility poles are engineered to meet AWPA and American National Standards Institute (ANSI) guidelines

What are CCA-Treated Wood Light Poles?

Our Southern Yellow Pine poles and Ponderosa Pine poles in various pole heights can be equipped with CCA preservative treatments. CCA preservatives, also known as Chromated Copper Arsenate, preserve the strength and structural stability of wood so the utility pole can stand strong with minimal damage. CCA-treatments prevent decay and deter insects from damaging wood utility poles.

Southern Yellow Pine Wood Pole vs. Red Pine Wood Poles

Southern Yellow Pine (SYP) wood poles and Red Pine wood poles are both commonly utilized for construction projects. Southern Yellow Pine is a more dense wood pole solution and is known for its structural integrity. Southern Yellow Pine wood is available in this pole class at LED Lighting Supply in various pole heights. All of our wood poles adhere to American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards.
