Dimensions and specifications of poles are subject to change without notice but the pole top and butt dimensions will always be within ANSI specifications. Wood poles are the ideal option for most field projects as concrete poles require more frequent maintenance and replacement. While our main product line is southern yellow pine, we at times are able to offer other species including Douglas fir and red pine. CCA treatment generally will result in the poles being free of insects for decades to come.

Please be advised that our wood poles are covered solely by a 1-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Product Overview

This is a 45 foot Class 3 wood utility pole made from Southern Yellow Pine. The pole is CCA treated for rot and decay resistance. It is designed for direct burial installation with a total height of 45 feet and 38.5 feet above grade after installation.

The pole meets ANSI Class 3 requirements and is manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification. Minimum pole top circumference is 23 inches, and minimum circumference 6 feet from the butt is 37.5 inches. The pole weight ranges from 1485 to 1750 pounds.

Cross arms are available as an accessory and can be configured based on project requirements. Both 8-foot and 10-foot cross arms are supported for this pole type.

Where This Product Fits Best

This 45 foot Class 3 Southern Yellow Pine pole is suited for electrical distribution, lighting, and utility infrastructure where a direct burial wood pole is required. It is commonly used in commercial, industrial, and utility settings that require above-grade heights near 40 feet.

The CCA treatment and Southern Yellow Pine construction make it appropriate for outdoor environments where long-term durability and resistance to rot are needed. The pole is intended for use where ANSI Class 3 loading and cross-arm capacity are specified.

Performance and Functional Considerations

The pole supports a cross-arm capacity of 240 pounds. The CCA treatment provides resistance to rot and decay in typical outdoor installations. The minimum pole top outside diameter is 7.3 inches, and the outside diameter 6 feet from the butt is 11.9 inches.

Direct burial installation requires a buried depth of 6.5 feet, resulting in 38.5 feet of pole height above grade. The weight range of 1485 to 1750 pounds should be considered for handling and installation planning.

Installation and Long-Term Use

This pole is installed by direct burial, with 6.5 feet of the pole below grade. Proper equipment is required for handling and setting due to the weight and length of the pole.

The CCA treatment extends the service life of the pole by protecting against rot and decay. Routine inspection is recommended to monitor for physical damage or environmental wear over time.

Cross arms can be added as needed, with sizing determined by the application and pole height. Both 8-foot and 10-foot cross arms are compatible with this pole.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

After installation, this pole provides a stable mounting point for electrical lines, lighting fixtures, or other utility hardware. The 38.5 foot above-grade height supports overhead distribution and area lighting applications.

Operators can attach cross arms and hardware as required for their specific infrastructure needs. The treated wood construction allows for outdoor use in a range of climates, with minimal maintenance beyond periodic inspection.

The pole's Class 3 rating and cross-arm capacity support typical utility and commercial loading requirements. Adjustments to attached equipment can be made as needed over the service life of the pole.
