Our 20 Foot Class 3 CCA Treated Southern Yellow Pine Poles are grown, debarked, and treated in the United States. They are manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification. Poles are pressure treated and preservative treated to the latest American Wood Preservers Association standards to prevent damage from termites, decay and rot regardless of the species used.
Delivery is made with a flatbed truck and the customer is responsible for offloading. Offloading requires a forklift or appropriate similar vehicle to offload - customer supplied. Customers are responsible for any costs associated with delivery rescheduling because of improper scheduling or not having the proper offloading equipment or area to store poles available at the time of delivery. Please contact a sales representative prior to purchasing to ensure all the project details are clear.
Pricing: Does not include cost of shipping. Shipping is available to the lower 48 USA states. We can supply a budgetary shipping quote or a firm shipping quote that is good for 14 days.
Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the pole), installation costs, or foundation design of light poles. Dimensions and specifications of poles are subject to change without notice but the pole top and butt dimensions will always be within ANSI specifications. Wood poles are the ideal option for most field projects as concrete poles require more frequent maintenance and replacement. While our main product line is southern yellow pine, we at times are able to offer other species including Douglas fir and red pine. CCA treatment generally will result in the poles being free of insects for decades to come.
Please be advised that our wood poles are covered solely by a 1-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Product Overview
This is a 20 foot Class 3 wood pole made from Southern Yellow Pine. The pole is CCA treated for durability and is designed for direct burial installation. It is manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification and meets commercial-grade requirements for lighting and utility applications.
The pole has a total length of 20 feet, with 16 feet above grade and 4 feet below grade when installed. It weighs between 500 and 600 pounds and is intended for use as a structural support for lighting fixtures and related equipment.
Minimum pole top circumference is 23 inches, and minimum circumference 6 feet from the butt is 27 inches. The pole top outside diameter is 7.3 inches, and the outside diameter 6 feet from the butt is 8.6 inches.
CCA treatment protects the wood from termites, decay, and rot. The pole is supplied as a single, solid piece of Southern Yellow Pine, debarked and pressure treated.
Where This Product Fits Best
This 20 foot Class 3 wood pole is suited for outdoor lighting installations where direct burial is preferred. Typical applications include parking lots, perimeter lighting, sports fields, and general area lighting in commercial and industrial properties.
The pole is appropriate for projects requiring ANSI Class 3 structural performance and where treated wood is specified for environmental durability. It is commonly used in locations where steel or concrete poles are not required or where wood is preferred for aesthetic or site-specific reasons.
Direct burial installation makes this pole suitable for sites without existing foundations or anchor bases. The CCA treatment allows for use in environments exposed to moisture and soil contact.
Performance and Functional Considerations
The pole supports lighting fixtures and related equipment up to the structural limits defined by ANSI Class 3. The 16 foot above-grade height provides clearance for most area and roadway lighting applications.
CCA treatment extends the service life of the pole by protecting against decay, rot, and insect damage. The Southern Yellow Pine construction provides strength and resilience for outdoor use.
The 4 foot burial depth ensures stability in typical soil conditions. The pole's weight and dimensions should be considered when planning handling and installation equipment.
Installation and Long-Term Use
This pole is designed for direct burial installation. A 4 foot section is placed below grade, leaving 16 feet above grade for mounting fixtures and brackets.
Proper backfilling and compaction are required to maintain stability and prevent shifting over time. The pole's weight (500-600 lbs) may require mechanical assistance for placement and alignment.
CCA treatment reduces maintenance requirements by protecting the wood from rot and insect activity. Periodic inspection is recommended to monitor for physical damage or environmental wear.
The pole is compatible with standard wood pole mounting hardware for lighting fixtures, arms, and accessories.
How This Fixture Is Commonly Used
After installation, this 20 foot wood pole is used as a structural support for LED area lights, flood lights, or other outdoor fixtures. The 16 foot above-grade height positions lighting at a level suitable for general area illumination.
Facility teams typically mount fixtures using standard wood pole brackets or arms. The pole's treated surface does not require additional coatings or wraps for protection against soil or weather exposure.
Routine checks focus on the base for signs of movement or soil erosion and on the pole body for impact or environmental damage. The pole is not intended for climbing or as a support for unrelated equipment unless specifically engineered for those loads.
Safety, Certifications, and Warranty
This pole is manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification and is classified as ANSI Class 3.
The wood is CCA treated to resist termites, decay, and rot.
LED Lighting Supply provides a 1 year warranty on this pole.
