Our CCA Treated 45 Foot Wood Pole Class 3 Treated Ponderosa Pine Poles are grown, debarked, and treated in the United States. They are manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification. Poles are pressure treated and preservative treated to the latest American Wood Preservers Association standards to prevent damage from termites, decay and rot regardless of the species used.
Our 45 ft round wood poles are perfect for sports fields, baseball fields, and a utility pole project. You can add up to 4 light arms per pole. Each arm can accommodate 240 lbs per arm. Number of arms and lights depends on the class of pole you select. The class will determine the diameter at the base. Availability can change based on the quantity and length required as different sizes can have different lead times. Our poles are built with durability in mind to ensure long-lasting performance.
Options Available:
Cross Arms (4 per pole, 2 per side) and Mounting Brackets. Customer is responsible for mounting Cross Arm after poles are delivered. Poles do not ship with cross arms attached.
These are the lights we typically mount on the cross arms. Up to 6 lights per arm, not to exceed 240 total pounds of fixtures and hardware.
Delivery is made with a flatbed truck and the customer is responsible for offloading. Offloading requires a fork lift or appropriate similar vehicle to offload ? customer supplied. Customers are responsible for any costs associated with delivery rescheduling because of improper scheduling or not having the proper offloading equipment or area to store poles available at the time of delivery. Please contact a sales representative prior to purchasing to ensure all the project details are clear.
Pricing: Does not include cost of shipping. Shipping is available to the lower 48 USA states. We can supply a budgetary shipping quote or a firm shipping quote that is good for 14 days.
Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the pole), installation costs, or foundation design of light poles. Dimensions and specifications of poles are subject to change without notice but the pole top and butt dimensions will always be within ANSI specifications. Wood poles are the ideal option for most field projects as concrete poles require more frequent maintenance and replacement.
Please be advised that our wood poles are covered solely by a 1 year-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Product Overview
This is a 45-foot Class 3 wood utility pole manufactured from Ponderosa Pine and pressure-treated with CCA preservative. The pole is designed for direct burial installation with 6.5 feet set below grade, leaving 38.5 feet of usable height above ground. Total pole weight ranges from 930 to 1,100 pounds depending on natural variation in the timber.
The pole is manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification and treated to American Wood Preservers Association standards. CCA treatment protects the wood against termite damage, decay, and rot. The pole is grown, debarked, and treated in the United States.
Where This Product Fits Best
This pole is sized for sports field lighting, baseball field installations, and general utility applications where moderate height and load capacity are required. The 38.5-foot above-grade height positions fixtures high enough for area lighting while remaining within a manageable installation envelope for standard equipment.
Class 3 poles fall in the mid-range of structural capacity. The minimum top diameter of 7.957 inches and base diameter of 13.209 inches (measured 6 feet from the butt) define the taper and load-bearing characteristics. Sites requiring heavier fixture loads or longer moment arms may need a lower class number with larger base dimensions.
Performance and Functional Considerations
This pole supports a maximum of 4 cross arms total, with no more than 2 cross arms mounted on any single side. Each cross arm can carry up to 240 pounds of attached weight, which includes fixtures, hardware, and any additional mounted equipment. Load calculations should account for the combined weight of all components on each arm.
The minimum circumference at the pole top is 23 inches, and the minimum circumference 6 feet from the butt is 41.5 inches. These dimensions establish the structural baseline for the Class 3 rating under ANSI O5.1. Natural variation in timber means actual dimensions may exceed these minimums.
Installation and Long-Term Use
The pole is installed by direct burial with 6.5 feet of the pole set below grade. Soil conditions and local code requirements determine whether additional measures such as backfill compaction or concrete collars are necessary. The 930 to 1,100 pound weight requires appropriate lifting and setting equipment.
Cross arms are shipped separately and must be mounted by the installer after the pole is delivered and set. Poles do not arrive with cross arms attached. Mounting brackets are available as options. The CCA treatment provides long-term protection against biological deterioration in ground-contact and above-ground exposure.
How This Fixture Is Commonly Used
Once installed, this pole serves as a permanent mounting structure for area lighting on sports fields, baseball diamonds, and similar outdoor venues. The 38.5-foot above-grade height allows fixtures to be positioned for broad coverage across playing surfaces without interfering with ball flight or sightlines.
Operators typically mount multiple fixtures per cross arm, with up to 6 fixtures allowed on each arm as long as the combined weight of fixtures and hardware stays under the 240-pound limit. Cross arm configuration is determined at installation based on the lighting layout requirements for the specific field or area.
Safety, Certifications, and Warranty
This pole is manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification. Preservative treatment follows American Wood Preservers Association standards for CCA pressure treatment.
LED Lighting Supply provides a 1-year warranty on this pole.
