This 45 foot Class 3 Ponderosa Pine utility pole is a strong choice for commercial and industrial lighting projects requiring a tall, durable mounting structure. Its CCA treatment protects against rot and insects, supporting long-term outdoor use in varied climates, while direct burial installation eliminates the need for separate foundations. ANSI O5.1 compliance and Class 3 rating ensure it meets structural standards for supporting 2 to 4 cross arms and multiple fixtures. This makes it particularly well suited for parking lots, roadways, distribution yards, and large facility perimeters where elevated, reliable lighting support is essential.

Our CCA Treated 45 Foot Wood Pole Class 3 Treated Ponderosa Pine Poles are grown, debarked, and treated in the United States. They are manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification. Poles are pressure treated and preservative treated to the latest American Wood Preservers Association standards to prevent damage from termites, decay and rot regardless of the species used.

Delivery is made with a flatbed truck and the customer is responsible for offloading. Offloading requires a fork lift or appropriate similar vehicle to offload – customer supplied. Customers are responsible for any costs associated with delivery rescheduling because of improper scheduling or not having the proper offloading equipment or area to store poles available at the time of delivery. Please contact a sales representative prior to purchasing to ensure all the project details are clear.

Pricing: Does not include cost of shipping. Shipping is available to the lower 48 USA states. We can supply a budgetary shipping quote or a firm shipping quote that is good for 14 days.

Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the pole), installation costs, or foundation design of light poles. Dimensions and specifications of poles are subject to change without notice but the pole top and butt dimensions will always be within ANSI specifications. Wood poles are the ideal option for most field projects as concrete poles require more frequent maintenance and replacement.

Please be advised that our wood poles are covered solely by a 1-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Product Overview

This 45 foot Class 3 wood pole is a direct-burial support structure made from CCA-treated Ponderosa Pine. It provides 38.5 feet of height above grade after installation with 6.5 feet buried below grade.

The pole is manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specifications. It is used for sports field lighting and utility distribution installations where a treated wood pole is appropriate for the site structure and fixture load.

Core Performance and Output

This pole has a minimum top outside diameter of 8 inches and a minimum top circumference of 23 inches. The outside diameter measures 13.2 inches at 6 feet from the butt, with a minimum circumference of 41.5 inches at that location.

Pole weight ranges from 930 to 1,100 pounds. Fixture loading, EPA requirements, attachment hardware, and site wind conditions must be confirmed for the completed pole assembly; Class 3 designation alone does not establish fixture support capacity for a specific project.

Adjustability and Control Options

This is a fixed-height, direct-burial wood pole with no integrated adjustment mechanism. The installed above-grade height is determined by the specified 6.5 foot burial depth.

Controls, luminaires, crossarms, brackets, and utility attachments are not included in the supplied product data. Any attached equipment must be evaluated against the pole structure and project requirements.

Longevity and Reliability

The Ponderosa Pine pole receives CCA treatment. The treatment is intended to protect the wood against termites, decay, and rot.

The pole is pressure treated and preservative treated to current American Wood Preservers Association standards. The warranty period is 1 year.

Build Quality and Physical Characteristics

This pole is grown, debarked, and treated in the United States. It is constructed from Ponderosa Pine and manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification.

Total pole length is 45 feet. Its direct-burial configuration requires handling equipment and an installation method suitable for a pole weighing up to 1,100 pounds.

Where This Product Fits Best

This pole fits sports field lighting installations and utility distribution work that use direct-burial wood structures. Its 38.5 foot above-grade height supports elevated fixture or utility attachment locations.

  • baseball field lighting
  • football field lighting
  • softball field lighting
  • sports field lighting
  • driving range lighting
  • recreational field lighting
  • utility distribution

CCA treatment addresses termite, decay, and rot exposure in the wood pole. Final structural suitability depends on the installed attachment load, wind conditions, and site-specific design requirements.

Installation and Long-Term Use

The pole installs by direct burial with 6.5 feet below grade, leaving 38.5 feet above grade. The excavation, lifting plan, setting method, and backfill approach must match the project design and local site conditions.

Field crews should verify pole orientation and attachment locations before setting the pole. The 930 to 1,100 pound pole weight affects equipment selection and handling procedures during installation.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

For baseball field lighting, softball field lighting, football field lighting, and sports field lighting, the pole provides a 38.5 foot mounting elevation above grade after direct burial. Pole locations follow the lighting layout and the required fixture attachment arrangement.

Driving range lighting, recreational field lighting, and utility distribution installations use the pole as a fixed structural support. Pole spacing and layout vary with the required attachment loads, field layout, and site design.

Safety, Certifications, and Warranty

This pole is manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification. It is pressure treated and preservative treated to current American Wood Preservers Association standards.

The warranty is 1 year. Installation must account for the pole weight, direct-burial depth, attached equipment, and project-specific structural requirements.
