Product Overview
This 4-foot fiberglass crossarm measures 5 inches by 5 inches and is designed for use with round poles ranging from 5 to 9 inches in diameter. The crossarm is constructed from non-conductive fiberglass and is available in bronze, black, white, gray, or custom colors.
The crossarm includes all necessary hardware for attachment, including a crossarm bracket, two 12-inch by 3/4-inch threaded rods, two 6 3/8-inch by 3/4-inch bolts, and two end caps. The total weight is 17 pounds.
The fiberglass material is non-toxic, non-leaching, and does not rot, rust, or corrode. The crossarm is coated with a 25-year UV protective paint for long-term durability.
This crossarm is designed to match the performance and longevity requirements of commercial and industrial lighting installations, especially where environmental resistance and non-conductivity are priorities.
Where This Product Fits Best
This crossarm is intended for use on round poles with diameters between 5 and 9 inches, supporting a maximum pole circumference of 28.25 inches. It is suitable for outdoor and indoor environments where exposure to weather, moisture, or corrosive conditions is expected.
Common applications include mounting lighting fixtures or equipment on composite fiberglass poles in parking lots, sports venues, industrial yards, and other commercial or industrial sites.
The non-conductive and fire-resistant properties make this crossarm appropriate for installations where electrical isolation or fire safety is a concern. The available color options allow for visual consistency with existing site infrastructure.
Use cases include both new installations and retrofit projects where steel or wood crossarms are being replaced with fiberglass for improved longevity and reduced maintenance.
Performance and Functional Considerations
The fiberglass construction provides high strength in both compression and tension, supporting loads in high wind conditions. The crossarm is designed to bend under stress and return to its original form, reducing the risk of breakage during severe weather events.
The UV protective coating extends the service life of the crossarm by preventing degradation from sunlight exposure. The material does not support combustion and will not sustain a flame, contributing to fire safety on site.
The crossarm is lighter than steel alternatives, which can simplify handling and installation. The included hardware is sized for secure attachment to compatible poles and brackets.
Color selection allows for matching with existing poles or site requirements. The crossarm does not require ongoing maintenance for corrosion or rot, reducing long-term upkeep.
Installation and Long-Term Use
The crossarm is supplied with all necessary mounting hardware, including a bracket, threaded rods, bolts, and end caps. Installation involves securing the bracket to the pole using the threaded rods, then attaching the crossarm to the bracket with the provided bolts.
The lightweight design makes it easier to maneuver and position during installation, especially when working at height or with limited equipment. The non-conductive material reduces risk during installation near energized equipment.
Once installed, the crossarm requires minimal maintenance. The UV-resistant coating and corrosion-proof fiberglass eliminate the need for repainting or rust treatment.
The crossarm is designed to maintain structural integrity over time, even in harsh environments. The fire-resistant properties further support long-term reliability in a range of site conditions.
How This Fixture Is Commonly Used
After installation, the crossarm provides a stable and durable mounting point for lighting fixtures or other equipment. The fiberglass material does not require periodic inspection for rust or rot, so routine maintenance is limited to visual checks for physical damage.
The crossarm?s ability to flex under wind load and return to its original shape means you do not need to plan for frequent replacements after storms or high wind events. The non-conductive surface reduces risk when working near electrical equipment.
Color-matched options allow you to maintain a consistent appearance across your site. The end caps help prevent moisture or debris from entering the crossarm, supporting long-term durability.
Once in place, the crossarm remains stable and secure, supporting mounted fixtures without the need for ongoing adjustments or tightening.
Safety, Certifications, and Warranty
The crossarm is constructed from non-conductive, non-toxic, and non-leaching fiberglass. It does not sustain a flame and is environmentally safe for use in a range of commercial and industrial settings.
