What are Class A Wood Pilings?
Class A wood pilings represent the highest grade of structural timber pilings under ASTM classification standards, engineered for demanding marine and foundation applications. Our marine construction specialists manufacture Class A Southern Yellow Pine pilings with stringent dimensional requirements, including a minimum 9-inch tip diameter and 14-inch diameter at 3 feet from the butt end. These premium-grade pilings undergo .60 CCA pressure treatment (with optional higher concentrations up to 2.5 lbs per cubic foot) for maximum resistance to marine borers, decay, and saltwater corrosion.
Class A designation ensures superior strength characteristics, tight grain structure, and minimal defects compared to lower grades.
Available in lengths from 20-45 feet, our USA-manufactured Class A pilings meet Corps of Engineers specifications for critical waterfront infrastructure, including docks, piers, and marine foundations where structural integrity and longevity are paramount.
