Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the piling), installation costs, or foundation design of piling. Dimensions and specifications of pilings are subject to change without notice but the tip and butt dimensions will always be within ASTM specifications. While our main product line is southern yellow pine, we at times are able to offer other species including douglas fir and red pine. All poles are treated with CCA unless specified otherwise. Our standard treatment is .60 pounds per cubic foot.

Please be advised that our wood pilings are covered solely by a 1-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the pilings are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Product Overview

This is a 45 foot Class A piling manufactured from Southern Yellow Pine. The piling is treated with .60 CCA preservative for resistance to decay and damage. The wood is grown, debarked, and treated in the United States.

The piling meets ASTM D25 standards and is produced to current American Wood Preservers Association requirements. Minimum top circumference is 28 inches, with a minimum top outside diameter of 9 inches. Three feet from the butt, the minimum circumference is 44 inches and outside diameter is 14 inches.

Pole weight ranges from 1990 to 2330 pounds. This piling is supplied with a 1-year warranty from LED Lighting Supply.

Optional higher CCA treatments are available at .80, 1.0, 1.5, and 2.5 CCA levels.

Where This Product Fits Best

This 45 foot piling is suited for marine and heavy construction applications requiring deep foundation support. Typical uses include docks, piers, bridges, and waterfront structures where long-term durability is required.

The Class A rating and .60 CCA treatment make this piling appropriate for environments with high moisture, soil contact, or exposure to marine organisms. Southern Yellow Pine is selected for its strength and load-bearing characteristics in structural applications.

Installers and facility operators use this piling where a long, straight, and structurally sound wood foundation is needed. The dimensions and treatment level support use in both saltwater and freshwater installations.

Performance and Functional Considerations

The .60 CCA treatment provides resistance to rot, decay, and insect activity in wet or submerged conditions. Higher CCA treatments are available for sites with increased exposure or more aggressive environments.

The 45 foot length and Class A grading ensure the piling can handle significant structural loads and deep embedment. The specified minimum diameters and circumferences provide consistent sizing for engineering and installation requirements.

Southern Yellow Pine is selected for its high strength-to-weight ratio and proven performance in piling applications. The weight range allows for planning of equipment and handling during installation.

Installation and Long-Term Use

This piling is installed using standard pile driving or setting equipment. The length and weight require appropriate machinery and site access for safe handling and placement.

Once installed, the CCA treatment protects the wood from decay and insect damage in ground contact or submerged conditions. The piling is intended for long-term structural use in demanding environments.

Routine inspection is recommended to monitor for physical damage or unusual wear. The 1-year warranty covers the piling from LED Lighting Supply for material integrity during the initial period after installation.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

After installation, this piling serves as a primary structural support for docks, piers, bridges, and similar marine or waterfront structures. The treated wood resists deterioration from water, soil, and biological exposure.

Operators rely on the piling for stable, long-term load support. The consistent sizing and Class A grading allow for predictable performance in engineered assemblies.

In day-to-day use, the piling remains largely maintenance-free aside from periodic inspection. The treatment level can be selected based on site-specific exposure to maximize service life.
