Pole Configuration and Lighting Needs
If you’re working with an existing baseball field, your light poles likely range between 30 and 60 feet in height. Typically, you might have 2 to 4 poles in the infield and another 2 to 4 in the outfield, depending on the level of play and how much light is required. Here are some common lighting level recommendations:- Little League / Recreational Fields:
- 50 foot-candles in the infield
- 30 foot-candles in the outfield
- Lower-Level Play:
- 30 foot-candles in the infield
- 10-15 foot-candles in the outfield
- College / Professional Fields:
- Much higher light levels, based on league and performance requirements
