150 Watt LED retrofit kit replaces metal halide bulbs inside your existing indoor or outdoor fixture. The retrofit kit is designed to replace Metal Halide bulbs and ballasts inside a sealed fixture. Active Cooling keeps this retrofit kit working for a very long time. This retrofit works well with existing motion sensors and photocells. It is easy to install - like doing a Metal Halide bulb and ballast replacement. You should also remove the fixture reflector and socket, as they will not be needed.

Product Overview

This 150 Watt LED retrofit delivers 23,250 lumens at 5000K, designed to replace 400 Watt metal halide lamps in existing fixtures. The retrofit operates on 100V to 277V input and supports both 50 and 60 Hz electrical systems.

The fixture offers a 120-degree beam angle and a CRI of 75+, providing broad, clear illumination suitable for commercial and industrial environments. Dimming is available as an option where compatible controls are present.

With a driver lifespan of 50,000 hours and an L70 rating of 100,000 hours, this retrofit is built for long-term operation. The power factor is greater than 0.90, and total harmonic distortion is under 15%.

The unit measures 6.7 inches long, 5.9 inches wide, and 2.75 inches deep, with a total weight of 6 pounds.

Where This Product Fits Best

This retrofit is intended for facilities upgrading from 400 Watt metal halide lamps to LED. It is suitable for use in high bay and low bay fixtures where the existing housing is retained and only the lamp is replaced.

Typical applications include warehouses, manufacturing floors, distribution centers, and other large indoor spaces requiring high-output lighting. The 5000K color temperature supports environments where clear, daylight-like visibility is needed.

The 100-277V input range covers most commercial and industrial electrical systems. The retrofit is compatible with both 120V and 277V circuits, as well as voltages in between.

Use this retrofit where broad, even coverage is required and where fixture replacement is not planned.

Performance and Functional Considerations

The 23,250 lumen output provides a direct replacement for 400 Watt metal halide lamps, with higher efficacy at 155 lumens per watt. The 120-degree beam angle ensures wide distribution, minimizing shadowing in open areas.

The fixture supports optional dimming when paired with compatible controls. This allows for light level adjustment based on operational needs or occupancy patterns.

The CRI of 75+ delivers adequate color rendering for most industrial and commercial tasks. The 5000K color temperature produces a neutral white light, supporting visual clarity and task accuracy.

With a power factor above 0.90 and THD below 15%, the retrofit minimizes electrical losses and harmonics, supporting stable operation on facility power systems.

Installation and Long-Term Use

This retrofit is designed for direct installation into existing fixtures that previously used 400 Watt metal halide lamps. The compact size and 6-pound weight allow for straightforward handling during installation.

The 100-277V input range simplifies compatibility with most facility wiring. The retrofit operates on both 50 Hz and 60 Hz systems, accommodating a range of electrical environments.

The driver is rated for 50,000 hours, and the LED array is rated for 100,000 hours to L70. This supports extended maintenance intervals and reduces the frequency of lamp changes compared to legacy systems.

Optional dimming can be implemented where compatible controls are present, allowing for further operational flexibility after installation.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

Once installed, this retrofit provides consistent, high-output lighting in spaces previously served by 400 Watt metal halide lamps. The 120-degree beam angle spreads light broadly, reducing dark spots and supporting uniform visibility across open areas.

The 5000K color temperature maintains a daylight-like environment, which is often preferred in industrial and warehouse settings for visual accuracy and alertness. The fixture?s CRI supports general color recognition for most operational tasks.

If dimming controls are present, you can adjust light levels to match occupancy or task requirements. This can help manage energy use and extend the useful life of the fixture.

Routine maintenance is limited to periodic inspection, as the long driver and LED lifespan reduce the need for frequent servicing compared to metal halide systems.
