Product Overview

This 30-foot square fiberglass light pole measures 5 inches wide with a .25-inch wall gauge and weighs 123 pounds. The pole uses an anchor base installation method with a 10 11/16 x 10 11/16 inch base plate and a bolt circle ranging from 9 1/8 to 10 3/8 inches. A top cap is included with the pole.

The fiberglass construction is finished with a fluoropolymer coating and protected by 25-year UV protective paint. Available colors include bronze, black, white, gray, and custom options. Anchor bolts, base covers, and tenons are sold separately.

Where This Product Fits Best

This pole suits applications where corrosion resistance matters. Fiberglass does not rot, rust, or corrode, making it appropriate for coastal areas, chemical processing environments, or locations with high moisture exposure. The non-conductive material works well near electrical infrastructure or in areas where grounding concerns exist.

At 123 pounds, this pole is significantly lighter than steel equivalents at this height, which affects handling during delivery and installation. Sites with limited equipment access or where crane time is a cost factor may benefit from the reduced weight.

Performance and Functional Considerations

EPA ratings determine how much fixture area the pole can support at various wind speeds. This pole is rated for 13.0 square feet of EPA at 70 mph, 8.0 square feet at 80 mph, 4.7 square feet at 90 mph, and 2.2 square feet at 100 mph. Fixture selection must account for the combined EPA of all mounted luminaires relative to your site''s wind zone requirements.

Fiberglass poles flex under wind load rather than fracturing. The material returns to its original shape after deflection, which contributes to long-term structural integrity in high wind conditions. The pole provides compression and tension strength comparable to or exceeding steel equivalents.

The material does not sustain flame because it contains no fuel source for fire. This characteristic may be relevant for facilities with fire code considerations or sites near combustible materials.

Installation and Long-Term Use

The anchor base design requires a concrete foundation with embedded anchor bolts. The bolt circle specification of 9 1/8 to 10 3/8 inches determines anchor bolt placement in the foundation. Anchor bolts are not included and must be selected based on foundation design and local engineering requirements.

The reduced weight compared to steel simplifies unloading and positioning. Fewer personnel or lighter equipment may be sufficient for installation depending on site conditions. The 10 11/16 x 10 11/16 inch base plate mounts to the anchor bolts above the finished foundation surface.

The fluoropolymer coating and UV protective paint eliminate the repainting cycles typically required for steel poles. The material will not develop rust or corrosion over the service life of the installation.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

Facility teams typically select this pole when planning parking lot lighting, perimeter security lighting, or roadway installations where a 30-foot mounting height is appropriate. The EPA ratings are referenced against fixture specifications during the design phase to confirm the pole can handle the intended luminaire load at the site''s design wind speed.

Color selection is made at time of order. Bronze, black, white, and gray are standard options, with custom colors available for projects requiring specific color matching. The fluoropolymer finish maintains appearance without the fading common to painted steel over time.

Because tenons are sold separately, the pole accommodates different fixture mounting configurations. Tenon selection depends on how many fixtures are being mounted and their orientation requirements.

Safety, Certifications, and Warranty

This pole carries a 7-year warranty from LED Lighting Supply.

The non-conductive fiberglass material provides electrical isolation between the luminaire and ground. This property is relevant for installations where electrical fault protection is a design consideration.
