Product Overview

This 30 Foot Square Fiberglass Light Pole is designed for outdoor area and sports field lighting applications where corrosion resistance, non-conductivity, and long-term durability are required. The pole features a 5-inch width, .25-inch wall thickness, and an anchor base for secure mounting to concrete foundations. Typical installations include sports fields, parking areas, and environments exposed to salt, chemicals, or moisture.

The fiberglass construction provides a lightweight alternative to steel, simplifying handling and installation. This pole is suitable for mounting heights up to 30 feet and is commonly used in locations where steel poles are prone to rust or where electrical isolation is needed.

Core Performance and Output

This pole supports fixture mounting at 30 feet and is engineered for structural performance in outdoor environments. EPA ratings are 13.0 at 70 mph, 8.0 at 80 mph, 4.7 at 90 mph, and 2.2 at 100 mph. The 5-inch square profile and .25-inch wall thickness provide strength for supporting multiple fixtures within the EPA and weight limits.

The fiberglass material resists corrosion, rot, and electrical conductivity. The pole is finished with a fluoropolymer coating for UV protection and long-term color retention. Excessive fixture weight or EPA above the listed ratings will reduce wind load capacity and may compromise structural integrity.

Adjustability and Control Options

This pole is supplied with a top cap and is compatible with standard tenons, brackets, and mounting hardware (sold separately). The anchor base design allows for precise alignment during installation. Fixture orientation and aiming depend on the mounting accessory selected.

No integrated electrical control features are included. All fixture-level controls, wiring, and sensors must be specified and installed separately. The non-conductive fiberglass construction provides inherent electrical isolation for added safety.

Longevity and Reliability

The fiberglass construction does not rust, rot, or corrode, even in coastal or chemical environments. The pole is coated with a 25-year UV protective paint to prevent degradation from sunlight exposure. The material is fire resistant and does not sustain a flame.

Flexural strength allows the pole to bend under wind load and return to its original shape, reducing the risk of catastrophic failure. The pole does not break down with age and is designed for long-term outdoor use with minimal maintenance.

Build Quality and Physical Characteristics

This pole weighs 123 lbs and features a 5-inch square cross-section with a .25-inch wall thickness. The base plate measures 10 11/16 x 10 11/16 inches with a 9-inch bolt circle. The pole is available in bronze, black, white, gray, or custom colors.

The fluoropolymer coating provides a smooth, durable finish that resists fading and surface damage. The non-conductive fiberglass material is suitable for environments where electrical isolation is required. Anchor bolts, base covers, and tenons are not included and must be sourced separately.

Where This Product Fits Best

This fiberglass light pole is intended for outdoor environments where corrosion resistance, non-conductivity, and long-term durability are required. It is commonly used in sports field lighting, coastal areas, and locations with exposure to chemicals or salt spray.

  • sports field lighting
  • baseball field lighting
  • football field lighting
  • softball field lighting
  • soccer field lighting
  • driving range lighting
  • coastal lighting
  • corrosive environment lighting

The pole is suitable for both new construction and retrofit projects where steel or wood poles are not appropriate due to environmental or electrical constraints. The non-conductive and corrosion-resistant properties make it a preferred choice in marine, wastewater, and campus settings.

Installation and Long-Term Use

The anchor base design is compatible with standard concrete foundations. The lightweight construction allows for easier handling and installation compared to steel poles. Alignment and leveling are performed during anchor bolt installation.

Routine inspection is limited to checking hardware and surface condition. The pole does not require painting or rust prevention. Fixture mounting must remain within the specified EPA and weight limits to maintain wind load performance and structural safety.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

Typical mounting height is 30 feet, supporting area and sports field lighting layouts. Fixture spacing and pole placement are determined by light level requirements, field size, and EPA constraints. Multiple fixtures can be mounted if total EPA and weight remain within rated limits.

In high wind areas, pole count may increase to distribute fixture load and maintain structural safety. Higher EPA fixtures or multiple luminaires may require shorter pole spacing or reduced mounting height to stay within wind load ratings.

Safety, Certifications, and Warranty

This pole is non-conductive and fire resistant. The fluoropolymer coating provides UV protection and surface durability. The product includes a 7-year warranty. All EPA ratings are based on standard engineering calculations for wind load at specified heights.

Certifications and compliance documentation are available upon request. Anchor bolts, base covers, and tenons must be selected to match site requirements and are not included.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the maximum EPA and fixture weight this pole can support at 30 feet?

A: The maximum EPA is 2.2 at 100 mph, 4.7 at 90 mph, 8.0 at 80 mph, and 13.0 at 70 mph. Total fixture weight and EPA must not exceed these ratings for the installed wind zone.

Q: Is this pole suitable for coastal or corrosive environments?

A: Yes, the fiberglass construction and fluoropolymer coating provide resistance to corrosion, salt, and chemicals.

Q: Are anchor bolts and base covers included?

A: No, anchor bolts, base covers, and tenons are sold separately and must be specified for the project.

Q: Can this pole be used for multiple fixtures or cross arms?

A: Yes, as long as the total EPA and weight of all fixtures and accessories remain within the rated limits for the installation height and wind zone.

Q: What is the recommended spacing for sports field lighting with this pole?

A: Spacing depends on fixture output, aiming, and field size. EPA and wind load limits may require closer pole spacing or reduced fixture count per pole in high wind areas.

Application Questions and Clarification

Q: Is this pole appropriate for marina or wastewater facility lighting?

A: Yes, this pole is suitable for marina, coastal, and wastewater facility lighting due to its corrosion resistance and non-conductive properties.

Q: Can this pole be used for campus or roadway lighting?

A: Yes, this pole is commonly used for campus and roadway lighting where non-conductive and corrosion-resistant materials are required.

Q: Is this pole intended for general parking lot lighting?

A: Fiberglass poles are typically specified for environments where corrosion, electrical isolation, or chemical exposure are concerns. For standard parking lot lighting, steel poles are more commonly used unless site conditions require fiberglass.
