Our LED Street Lights are pole-mounted light fixtures designed to light up roadways and urban streets and are a common outdoor lighting solution. They are sometimes referred to as cobra head lights. LED Street lights are mounted on the top of a light pole, and there is usually one light per pole. The light has optics that allow it to distribute the light on the roadway. Streetlights are sometimes equipped with a photocell that turns the lights on at dusk and off at dawn. LED Streetlights fixtures can easily replace high-pressure sodium lights and metal halide road lighting.

Product Overview

This 120 watt LED street light delivers 19,200 lumens at 160 lumens per watt, replacing 400 watt metal halide fixtures. The fixture operates on 100V-277V input at 50-60Hz and is available in 3000K, 4000K, or 5000K color temperatures with a CRI of 70+.

The housing is aluminum alloy with a black finish, measuring 24 x 11 x 6.1 inches and weighing 14.5 lbs. Optics consist of tempered glass with a polycarbonate lens. Type 3 distribution is standard, with Type 2, 4, and 5 distributions available as options.

A photocell is available as an optional accessory. The fixture supports 1-10V dimming and carries an EPA rating of 2.

Where This Product Fits Best

This fixture is sized to replace 400 watt metal halide street lights on pole-mounted applications. The 19,200 lumen output and Type 3 distribution pattern suit roadway, parking lot, and pathway lighting where forward throw with moderate lateral spread is needed.

The IP66 rating allows use in locations exposed to rain, dust, and washdown conditions. The IK09 impact rating supports installation in areas where the fixture may encounter physical contact or debris. Surge protection rated at 5kV line-to-line and 10kV line-to-earth provides resilience against electrical transients common in outdoor infrastructure.

With an EPA rating of 2, wind load calculations for pole selection should account for this value when specifying mounting hardware.

Performance and Functional Considerations

At 160 lumens per watt, this fixture produces 19,200 lumens from 120 watts of input power. The 131,000-hour L70 lifespan indicates the point at which lumen output is projected to reach 70% of initial rated output under standard operating conditions.

Three color temperature options are available: 3000K for warmer appearance in pedestrian or residential-adjacent areas, 4000K for general-purpose roadway use, and 5000K for higher visual acuity in security or industrial contexts. CRI of 70+ is typical for outdoor area lighting where color accuracy is secondary to visibility.

The 1-10V dimming input allows integration with external dimming controls where reduced output is desired during low-traffic periods or for energy management.

Installation and Long-Term Use

This fixture is pole-mounted using the integral arm. At 14.5 lbs, the weight is manageable for single-installer handling on standard lift equipment. The 100V-277V voltage range covers common North American service voltages without requiring transformer matching.

The aluminum alloy housing and IP66 rating reduce long-term maintenance concerns related to moisture ingress and corrosion. The IK09 impact rating means the lens and housing can tolerate moderate physical impact without failure. Surge protection built into the driver provides a level of defense against grid transients and nearby lightning activity.

The optional photocell mounts directly to the fixture for dusk-to-dawn switching without additional wiring to external controls.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

Facilities replacing aging metal halide street lights use this fixture as a direct retrofit where pole infrastructure remains in place. The Type 3 pattern throws light forward and to the sides, which works well for roadway centerline or edge-of-lot pole placement where coverage needs to extend into the driving or walking surface rather than directly below the fixture.

The optional photocell allows automatic operation without timers or external control systems. Where dimming is needed, the 1-10V input connects to building management systems or standalone dimming controllers. Color temperature selection is made at time of order based on the visual character required by the site or local preferences.

Safety, Certifications, and Warranty

This fixture is ETL listed and rebate eligible. The IP66 rating allows exposure to powerful water jets and complete dust exclusion. The IK09 rating allows the fixture to withstand moderate mechanical impact.

Surge protection is rated at 5kV line-to-line and 10kV line-to-earth. We provide a 5-year warranty on this fixture.
