Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the pole), installation costs, or foundation design of light poles. Dimensions and specifications of poles are subject to change without notice but the pole top and butt dimensions will always be within ANSI specifications. Wood poles are the ideal option for most field projects as concrete poles require more frequent maintenance and replacement. While our main product line is southern yellow pine, we at times are able to offer other species including douglas fir and red pine. CCA treatment generally will result in the poles being free of insects for decades to come.
Please be advised that our wood poles are covered solely by a 1-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Product Overview
This 8 foot wood crossarm is manufactured from Southern Yellow Pine and treated with CCA preservative. The crossarm measures 4 inches wide by 6 inches tall by 8 feet in length and weighs 95 pounds.
The crossarm ships with V-mounting brackets and a through bolt included. This crossarm must be purchased with poles and is not available as a standalone item.
Where This Product Fits Best
This crossarm is intended for mounting to wood utility poles where fixtures or equipment need to be supported away from the pole centerline. The 8 foot length provides mounting positions on both sides of the pole for balanced or offset loading.
Southern Yellow Pine is a dense, straight-grained species commonly used in utility and structural applications. CCA treatment protects the wood against decay, fungal growth, and insect damage in outdoor installations.
Performance and Functional Considerations
The 4 by 6 inch cross-section provides the structural depth needed to resist bending loads from mounted fixtures or conductors. At 95 pounds, this crossarm requires equipment or multiple personnel for safe handling during installation.
CCA-treated Southern Yellow Pine holds up in direct weather exposure without additional coating or sealing. The treatment is pressure-applied, penetrating the wood fibers rather than sitting on the surface.
Installation and Long-Term Use
The included V-mounting brackets and through bolt provide the hardware needed to secure the crossarm to a compatible wood pole. Bracket positioning and bolt torque should follow standard pole construction practices for the intended load.
Once installed, CCA-treated crossarms require no routine chemical maintenance. Visual inspection for physical damage, checking, or hardware loosening is standard practice for wood pole assemblies over time.
How This Fixture Is Commonly Used
Crossarms like this are used to mount area lights, security fixtures, or small equipment arrays where the load needs to clear the pole or where multiple fixtures are required at a single elevation. The 8 foot span allows fixtures to be positioned several feet out from the pole on either side.
In parking lots, perimeter security applications, and rural lighting installations, wood crossarms remain common where wood poles are already specified. The included brackets simplify field assembly by providing a matched mounting system for the crossarm dimensions.
Safety, Certifications, and Warranty
This crossarm carries a 1 year warranty.
CCA-treated lumber is intended for outdoor structural use. Standard precautions for handling treated wood apply, including avoiding prolonged skin contact and not burning treated material.
