Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the pole), installation costs, or foundation design of light poles. Dimensions and specifications of poles are subject to change without notice but the pole top and butt dimensions will always be within ANSI specifications. Wood poles are the ideal option for most field projects as concrete poles require more frequent maintenance and replacement. While our main product line is southern yellow pine, we at times are able to offer other species including douglas fir and red pine. CCA treatment generally will result in the poles being free of insects for decades to come.

Please be advised that our wood poles are covered solely by a 1-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Product Overview

This 10-foot wood crossarm is constructed from Southern Yellow Pine and treated with CCA preservative. The crossarm measures 4 inches wide by 6 inches tall and weighs 115 pounds. V-mounting brackets and through bolt are included.

This crossarm must be purchased with a pole. It is designed for attachment to wood utility poles where horizontal mounting points are required for fixtures, conductors, or other equipment.

Where This Product Fits Best

This crossarm is appropriate for installations where a treated wood crossarm is required on a wood pole structure. Southern Yellow Pine is a dense, strong species commonly used in utility and site lighting pole applications due to its structural characteristics and treatment compatibility.

The 10-foot length provides sufficient span for configurations requiring multiple mounting points across the width of a pole. The 4x6 inch profile offers the cross-sectional strength needed to support mounted loads at extended distances from the pole centerline.

Performance and Functional Considerations

CCA treatment provides protection against decay and insect damage in outdoor environments. This treatment method has a long track record in pole and crossarm applications where ground contact or prolonged weather exposure is expected.

The 115-pound weight reflects the density of treated Southern Yellow Pine at this dimension. Handling and installation will require appropriate equipment or crew size to manage the load safely during mounting.

Installation and Long-Term Use

The included V-mounting brackets and through bolt provide the hardware needed to secure the crossarm to a compatible wood pole. This bracket style allows the crossarm to be mounted with the 6-inch dimension oriented vertically, which is the standard configuration for load-bearing crossarms.

Once installed, treated Southern Yellow Pine crossarms require periodic inspection for checking, splitting, or treatment depletion over time. CCA-treated wood resists decay but should still be monitored as part of routine pole maintenance.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

Crossarms of this type are typically used to support area lighting fixtures, line hardware, or other equipment that must be offset from the pole itself. The 10-foot length allows for multiple fixture mounts or wide separation between attachment points.

After installation, the crossarm serves as a fixed horizontal structure. Any adjustments to mounted equipment positioning are made at the attachment points along the arm rather than to the crossarm itself.

Safety, Certifications, and Warranty

This crossarm carries a 1-year warranty.

CCA-treated wood should be handled with appropriate precautions. Avoid prolonged skin contact, and do not burn treated wood. Follow standard safety practices when cutting, drilling, or otherwise working with pressure-treated lumber.
