Our 65 foot Class 2 CCA Treated Southern Yellow Pine Poles are grown, debarked, and treated in the United States. They are manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification. Poles are treated with preservatives to the latest American Wood Preservers Association standards to ensure rot and decay prevention. The long term durability of a wood utility pole is one of its main benefits

These 65 ft wood poles are perfect for sports fields, baseball fields or used as utility poles. You can add 1-3 light arms per side, 2-6 in total, but no more than 3 per side. Each arm can accommodate 240 lbs per arm. The number of arms and lights depends on the class of the utility pole you select. The pole length will determine how significant the taper is as with all timber utility poles.

Options Available:

Cross Arms (2-6 per pole, 1-3 per side) and Mounting Brackets. The customer is responsible for mounting Cross Arm after the poles are delivered. Poles do not ship with cross arms attached.

These are the lights we typically mount on the cross arms. Up to 6 lights per arm, not to exceed 240 total pounds of fixtures and hardware.

Delivery is made with a standard flatbed truck depending on pole lengths and the customer is responsible for offloading. Offloading requires a fork lift or appropriate similar vehicle to offload ? customer supplied. Customer is responsible for any costs associated with delivery rescheduling because of improper scheduling or not having the proper offloading equipment available at time of delivery. Installation should be done by a trained professional.

Pricing: Does not include price of shipping. Shipping is available to the lower 48 USA states. We can supply a budgetary shipping quote or a firm shipping quote that is good for 14 days.

Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the pole), installation costs, or foundation design of light poles. Dimensions and specifications of poles are subject to change without notice but the pole top and butt dimensions will always be within ANSI specifications. Wood poles are the ideal option for most field projects as concrete poles require more frequent maintenance and replacement. While our main product line is southern yellow pine, we at times are able to offer other species including douglas fir and red pine. CCA treatment generally will result in the poles being free of insects for decades to come.

Please be advised that our wood poles are covered solely by a 1 year-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Product Overview

This is a 65-foot Class 2 wood utility pole made from Southern Yellow Pine, grown and manufactured in the United States. The pole is treated with CCA (Chromated Copper Arsenate) preservative and manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification. Treatment follows current American Wood Preservers Association standards for rot and decay prevention.

Total pole height is 65 feet, with 56.5 feet above grade and 8.5 feet buried below grade. Pole weight ranges from 3,100 to 3,670 pounds depending on natural wood variation. This pole is designed for direct burial installation.

Minimum circumference at the pole top is 25 inches, with a minimum top diameter of 7.957 inches. Six feet from the butt, minimum circumference is 46.5 inches and minimum diameter is 14.801 inches. As with all timber utility poles, the taper becomes more pronounced with longer pole lengths.

Where This Product Fits Best

This 65-foot Class 2 pole is sized for sports field lighting, baseball field installations, and general utility pole applications where above-grade height in the mid-50-foot range is required. The 56.5-foot above-grade height and cross arm capacity make it suitable for outdoor athletic venues requiring elevated mounting positions.

Direct burial installation requires adequate soil conditions and proper equipment to handle the 3,100 to 3,670 pound weight. Sites must accommodate the 8.5-foot burial depth for structural stability.

Performance and Functional Considerations

Class 2 designation under ANSI O5.1 defines the load-bearing capacity and structural requirements for this pole. The CCA treatment protects against rot and decay, which is a primary factor in long-term pole durability for outdoor installations exposed to weather and ground contact.

This pole supports 2 to 4 cross arms total, with a maximum of 1 to 2 cross arms per side. Each cross arm can carry up to 240 pounds of attached weight, which includes fixtures, mounting hardware, and any other attached equipment. Weight calculations must account for all components mounted to each arm.

Installation and Long-Term Use

This pole requires direct burial to the specified 8.5-foot depth. Handling and setting a pole in this weight class requires appropriate rigging equipment and experienced crews. The weight range of 3,100 to 3,670 pounds affects transport logistics and on-site equipment requirements.

Cross arms are not attached at the time of delivery. The installer is responsible for mounting cross arms after the pole is set. Cross arm attachment must be completed before fixture installation can proceed.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

Once installed, the pole provides a stable elevated platform for area lighting on sports fields and similar outdoor venues. The 56.5-foot above-grade height positions fixtures well above playing surfaces and spectator areas.

Cross arm configuration determines how many fixtures can be mounted. With up to 2 cross arms per side and 240 pounds maximum per arm, fixture layouts are planned around these constraints. Each arm can accommodate up to 6 lights, provided total weight of fixtures and hardware stays within the 240-pound limit per arm.

After installation, the pole itself requires no adjustment. Ongoing use involves periodic inspection of the wood condition, cross arm attachments, and any mounted equipment. The CCA treatment provides long-term protection, though exterior inspection for physical damage or deterioration remains part of standard maintenance practice.

Safety, Certifications, and Warranty
