Our 50 foot Class 4 CCA Treated Southern Yellow Pine Poles are grown, debarked, and treated in the United States. They are manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification. Poles are treated with preservatives to the latest American Wood Preservers Association standards to ensure rot and decay prevention. The long-term durability of a wood utility pole is one of its main benefits
These 50 ft wood poles are perfect for sports fields, baseball fields, or used as utility poles. You can add 1-2 light arms per side, 2-4 in total, but no more than 2 per side. Each arm can accommodate 240 lbs per arm. The number of arms and lights depends on the class of the utility pole you select. The pole length will determine how significant the taper is, as with all timber utility poles.
Options Available:
Cross Arms (2-4 per pole, 1-2 per side) and Mounting Brackets. The customer is responsible for mounting Cross Arm after the poles are delivered. Poles do not ship with cross arms attached.
These are the lights we typically mount on the cross arms. Up to 6 lights per arm, not to exceed 240 total pounds of fixtures and hardware.
Delivery is made with a standard flatbed truck depending on pole lengths and the customer is responsible for offloading. Offloading requires a fork lift or appropriate similar vehicle to offload - customer supplied. Customer is responsible for any costs associated with delivery rescheduling because of improper scheduling or not having the proper offloading equipment available at time of delivery. Installation should be done by a trained professional.
Pricing: Does not include price of shipping. Shipping is available to the lower 48 USA states. We can supply a budgetary shipping quote or a firm shipping quote that is good for 14 days.
Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the pole), installation costs, or foundation design of light poles. Dimensions and specifications of poles are subject to change without notice but the pole top and butt dimensions will always be within ANSI specifications. Wood poles are the ideal option for most field projects as concrete poles require more frequent maintenance and replacement. While our main product line is southern yellow pine, we at times are able to offer other species including Douglas Fir and Red Pine. CCA treatment generally will result in the poles being free of insects for decades to come.
Please be advised that our wood poles are covered solely by a 1 year-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Product Overview
This is a 50 foot Class 4 wood utility pole manufactured from Southern Yellow Pine and treated with CCA preservative. The pole is designed for direct burial installation with 7 feet set below grade, leaving 43 feet of usable height above ground level.
The pole is manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification and treated to American Wood Preservers Association standards for rot and decay resistance. Material is sourced, debarked, and treated in the United States. Pole weight ranges from 1,535 to 1,815 pounds depending on natural density variation in the timber.
Cross arm capacity is 2 to 4 arms total, with a maximum of 2 arms per side. Each cross arm supports up to 240 pounds of mounted fixtures and hardware. Cross arms and mounting brackets are available separately and must be attached after delivery.
Where This Product Fits Best
This pole is appropriate for sports field lighting, baseball field lighting, and general utility pole applications where a 43 foot above-grade mounting height is needed. The Class 4 rating and cross arm capacity support multiple fixture mounting positions for area lighting layouts.
Direct burial installation requires adequate soil conditions and equipment capable of handling a pole weighing up to 1,815 pounds. The 7 foot burial depth is fixed for this pole length and class.
Performance and Functional Considerations
Minimum pole top circumference is 21 inches with a minimum diameter of 6.684 inches at the tip. Six feet from the butt, minimum circumference is 36.5 inches with a minimum diameter of 11.618 inches. This taper is typical for timber utility poles of this length.
CCA treatment provides long-term protection against rot and decay when the pole is properly installed. The preservative treatment is applied to current American Wood Preservers Association standards.
Each cross arm position supports up to 240 pounds, which accommodates up to 6 light fixtures per arm depending on fixture weight. Total mounted weight per arm including fixtures, hardware, and the arm itself must not exceed this limit.
Installation and Long-Term Use
This pole requires direct burial installation to a depth of 7 feet. Handling and setting a pole in this weight class requires appropriate rigging equipment and experienced installation crews. The pole ships without cross arms attached.
Cross arms must be mounted by the installer after the pole is set. Positioning of cross arms on the pole determines fixture aiming angles and light distribution patterns for the application. Arm placement should account for the natural taper of the pole when selecting mounting hardware.
How This Fixture Is Commonly Used
Once installed, this pole serves as the permanent mounting structure for area lighting in outdoor applications. The 43 feet of above-grade height provides clearance and throw distance for sports field and parking area lighting layouts. Fixture positioning is determined by cross arm placement on the pole.
Ongoing interaction with the pole itself is minimal after installation. Fixture maintenance, re-lamping, or fixture replacement requires bucket truck or climbing access. The cross arm weight rating of 240 pounds per arm remains the limiting factor when adding or replacing fixtures over the life of the installation.
Safety, Certifications, and Warranty
This pole is manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification. Preservative treatment meets American Wood Preservers Association standards.
Warranty coverage is 1 year.
