Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the pole), installation costs, or foundation design of light poles. Dimensions and specifications of poles are subject to change without notice but the pole top and butt dimensions will always be within ANSI specifications. Wood poles are the ideal option for most field projects as concrete poles require more frequent maintenance and replacement.
Please be advised that our wood poles are covered solely by a 1-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Product Overview
The 45 Foot Wood Pole, Class 4, is crafted from CCA-treated Ponderosa Pine, designed for robust utility in outdoor lighting applications. With a total height of 45 feet and a buried depth of 6.5 feet, this pole is suitable for direct burial installation, providing a stable and reliable foundation for lighting systems. It is manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
This pole is particularly suited for sports lighting and horse arena lighting, where its height and durability can be fully utilized. The treatment process protects against termites, decay, and rot, making it a long-lasting choice for various outdoor environments.
Core Performance and Output
This wood pole offers a structural capacity that supports a range of lighting fixtures, with a weight capacity between 800 and 970 lbs. Its Class 4 rating ensures it can handle significant wind loads, making it suitable for open field installations. The pole's dimensions, including a minimum top circumference of 21 inches and a circumference of 38.5 inches six feet from the butt, provide a sturdy base for mounting.
While the pole is designed for direct burial, it is important to consider soil conditions and local wind patterns to ensure optimal performance. Excessive wind loads or poor soil conditions may require additional support or anchoring solutions.
Adjustability and Control Options
The 45 Foot Wood Pole does not include integrated adjustability or control options, as it is a static structural component. However, it can accommodate various lighting fixtures that offer their own adjustability and control features. This allows for flexibility in lighting design and implementation, depending on the specific needs of the application.
When selecting fixtures to mount on this pole, consider those with adjustable beam angles or dimming capabilities to enhance the lighting system's adaptability to different environments and requirements.
Longevity and Reliability
Constructed from CCA-treated Ponderosa Pine, this pole is designed for longevity and reliability in outdoor settings. The treatment process ensures resistance to environmental factors such as moisture, insects, and decay, extending the pole's lifespan significantly.
Regular inspections and maintenance, such as checking for signs of wear or damage, can further enhance the pole's durability and performance over time. Proper installation and adherence to local codes and standards are also crucial for ensuring long-term reliability.
Build Quality and Physical Characteristics
The build quality of this wood pole is characterized by its robust construction and adherence to ANSI O5.1 specifications. The Ponderosa Pine material is selected for its strength and resilience, making it an ideal choice for demanding outdoor applications.
Physical characteristics include a minimum pole top outer diameter of 6.7 inches and a pole outer diameter of 12.2 inches six feet from the butt. These dimensions contribute to the pole's stability and ability to support various lighting fixtures effectively.
Where This Product Fits Best
This wood pole is best suited for outdoor environments where height and durability are critical. Its design and treatment make it ideal for sports fields and arenas.
- baseball field lighting
- softball field lighting
- soccer field lighting
- football field lighting
- sports field lighting
- driving range lighting
- recreational field lighting
- area lighting
The pole's CCA treatment ensures it withstands various weather conditions, making it suitable for both rural and urban settings. Its height and structural integrity provide reliable support for lighting systems in these environments.
Installation and Long-Term Use
Installation involves direct burial, with a buried depth of 6.5 feet to ensure stability. It is crucial to assess soil conditions and local regulations before installation to ensure compliance and optimal performance.
For long-term use, regular maintenance checks are recommended to identify any potential issues such as rot or insect damage. Proper care and adherence to installation guidelines will maximize the pole's lifespan and effectiveness.
How This Fixture Is Commonly Used
This wood pole is commonly used in sports field lighting applications, where its height allows for optimal light distribution across large areas. Typical mounting heights are around 38.5 feet above grade, providing ample coverage for fields and arenas.
Spacing between poles will vary based on the specific lighting requirements and fixture types used. Higher output fixtures may reduce the number of poles needed but could increase glare if not properly managed.
Safety, Certifications, and Warranty
This pole is manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specifications, ensuring it meets industry standards for safety and performance. The CCA treatment provides additional protection against environmental hazards, contributing to the pole's overall safety profile.
A 1-year warranty is included, covering manufacturing defects and ensuring peace of mind for the initial installation period. Regular inspections and maintenance are recommended to maintain safety and performance over time.
