This 45 foot Class 2 wood pole is a strong choice for outdoor lighting infrastructure where elevated mounting is needed, such as street lighting, roadway lighting, and large exterior area illumination. Its ANSI Class 2 rating and compliance with ANSI O5.1 ensure reliable structural capacity for supporting LED fixtures and multiple cross arms, each rated up to 240 pounds. The CCA treatment protects against rot and decay in direct burial and outdoor conditions, making it suitable for long-term use in municipal, commercial, and industrial projects where wood poles are specified or preferred.

Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the pole), installation costs, or foundation design of light poles. Dimensions and specifications of poles are subject to change without notice but the pole top and butt dimensions will always be within ANSI specifications. Wood poles are the ideal option for most field projects as concrete poles require more frequent maintenance and replacement. While our main product line is southern yellow pine, we at times are able to offer other species including Douglas fir and red pine. CCA treatment generally will result in the poles being free of insects for decades to come.

Please be advised that our wood poles are covered solely by a 1-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Product Overview

This 45 foot wood light and utility pole is a Class 2 Southern Yellow Pine pole for direct burial installation. It provides 38.5 feet of height above grade after the specified 6.5 foot burial depth.

The pole is CCA treated and manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification. It is used where a wood pole structure is required for sports field lighting or utility distribution.

Core Performance and Output

This pole provides structural support rather than light output. The Class 2 rating, 45 foot overall length, and 38.5 foot above-grade height define its intended structural configuration.

The pole has a minimum top circumference of 25 inches and a minimum circumference of 40.5 inches at 6 feet from the butt. Fixture loading, cross arm configuration, wind exposure, and attached equipment must be evaluated for the specific installation.

Adjustability and Control Options

This wood pole does not include electrical controls or fixture controls. Cross arms are available as optional accessories.

Available cross arm lengths include 8 foot and 10 foot configurations. Cross arm sizing and configuration depend on project requirements and the selected pole height and class.

Longevity and Reliability

The Southern Yellow Pine construction is CCA treated. The preservative treatment is intended for rot and decay prevention.

The pole is grown, debarked, and treated in the United States. Warranty coverage is one year.

Build Quality and Physical Characteristics

This pole is manufactured from Southern Yellow Pine and weighs approximately 1,715 to 2,020 pounds. The minimum pole top outside diameter is 8 inches.

The pole outside diameter at 6 feet from the butt is 12.9 inches. Its 6.5 foot below-grade section is intended for direct burial installation.

Where This Product Fits Best

This pole fits outdoor installations requiring a direct-buried wood structure with 38.5 feet above grade. It is commonly configured for field lighting structures and utility distribution support.

  • baseball field lighting
  • soccer field lighting
  • football field lighting
  • driving range lighting
  • recreational field lighting
  • utility distribution

CCA treatment supports outdoor wood pole use where long-term exposure to weather, ground contact, rot, and decay are project considerations.

Installation and Long-Term Use

Installation requires direct burial to the specified 6.5 foot depth, leaving 38.5 feet above grade. Site conditions, excavation requirements, and pole handling must be addressed before setting a pole weighing up to 2,020 pounds.

Cross arm selection must match the project configuration. Attached fixtures, utility equipment, and wind exposure affect the final structural design.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

For baseball field lighting, soccer field lighting, football field lighting, driving range lighting, and recreational field lighting, the 38.5 foot above-grade height establishes the elevation available for attached equipment. Pole placement follows the field layout and required lighting arrangement.

For utility distribution, cross arm configuration is determined by the required equipment arrangement. Higher mounted equipment can reduce the number of pole locations in a layout, but attached loading and site conditions still require project-specific review.

Safety, Certifications, and Warranty

This pole is manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification. The wood treatment meets the latest American Wood Preservers Association standards.

The warranty is one year. Direct burial depth, cross arm configuration, and attached equipment must align with the installation design.
