Our 45 foot Class 2 CCA Treated Southern Yellow Pine Poles are grown, debarked, and treated in the United States. They are manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification. Poles are treated with preservatives to the latest American Wood Preservers Association standards to ensure rot and decay prevention. The long term durability of a wood utility pole is one of its main benefits

These 45 ft wood poles are perfect for sports fields, baseball fields or used as utility poles. You can add 1-2 light arms per side, 2-4 in total, but no more than 2 per side. Each arm can accommodate 240 lbs per arm. The number of arms and lights depends on the class of the utility pole you select. The pole length will determine how significant the taper is as with all timber utility poles.

Options Available:

Cross Arms (2-4 per pole, 1-2 per side) and Mounting Brackets. The customer is responsible for mounting Cross Arm after the poles are delivered. Poles do not ship with cross arms attached.

These are the lights we typically mount on the cross arms. Up to 6 lights per arm, not to exceed 240 total pounds of fixtures and hardware.

Delivery is made with a standard flatbed truck depending on pole lengths and the customer is responsible for offloading. Offloading requires a fork lift or appropriate similar vehicle to offload - customer supplied. Customer is responsible for any costs associated with delivery rescheduling because of improper scheduling or not having the proper offloading equipment available at time of delivery. Installation should be done by a trained professional.

Pricing: Does not include price of shipping. Shipping is available to the lower 48 USA states. We can supply a budgetary shipping quote or a firm shipping quote that is good for 14 days.

Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the pole), installation costs, or foundation design of light poles. Dimensions and specifications of poles are subject to change without notice but the pole top and butt dimensions will always be within ANSI specifications. Wood poles are the ideal option for most field projects as concrete poles require more frequent maintenance and replacement. While our main product line is southern yellow pine, we at times are able to offer other species including Douglas fir and red pine. CCA treatment generally will result in the poles being free of insects for decades to come.

Please be advised that our wood poles are covered solely by a 1-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Product Overview

This is a 45 foot Class 2 wood pole made from Southern Yellow Pine. The pole is CCA treated and designed for direct burial installation. It provides 38.5 feet of height above grade after installation, with 6.5 feet of the pole set below ground level.

The pole is manufactured to ANSI Class 2 standards. It supports 2 to 4 cross arms in total, with a maximum of 2 cross arms per side. Each cross arm can support up to 240 pounds of fixtures and hardware.

The minimum pole top circumference is 25 inches, and the minimum circumference 6 feet from the butt is 40.5 inches. The pole top outside diameter is at least 8 inches, and the outside diameter 6 feet from the butt is 12.9 inches. The weight of the pole ranges from 1715 to 2020 pounds.

This pole is intended for use in lighting infrastructure and utility applications where a treated wood pole is required for height and load support.

Where This Product Fits Best

This 45 foot wood pole is suited for outdoor lighting installations that require significant mounting height, such as sports fields, baseball fields, and street lighting infrastructure.

It is appropriate for applications where direct burial installation is preferred and where the use of treated Southern Yellow Pine is compatible with site requirements.

The pole is designed to accommodate multiple cross arms and can support substantial fixture loads, making it suitable for locations needing multiple luminaires per pole.

It is commonly used in environments where ANSI Class 2 certification is required for structural or regulatory reasons.

Performance and Functional Considerations

The pole is CCA treated to help prevent rot and decay in outdoor environments. This treatment supports long-term durability in typical utility and lighting applications.

With a 45 foot total length and 38.5 feet above grade, the pole provides elevated mounting for lighting fixtures, which can improve light distribution and coverage in large open areas.

The pole supports up to 2 cross arms per side, with a total of 2 to 4 cross arms per pole. Each arm can hold up to 240 pounds, allowing for multiple fixtures or heavier luminaires as needed.

The taper of the pole is determined by its length, which affects the diameter at the top and at 6 feet from the butt. This should be considered when selecting mounting hardware and cross arms.

Installation and Long-Term Use

This pole is designed for direct burial installation, with 6.5 feet of the pole set below grade. Proper burial depth is required for stability and compliance with installation standards.

Cross arms and mounting brackets are installed after the pole is set. The pole does not ship with cross arms attached, so installation planning should account for field assembly of these components.

The CCA treatment supports resistance to rot and decay, which is important for long-term use in outdoor environments. Regular inspection of the pole and hardware is recommended to maintain structural integrity.

The pole's weight and size require appropriate equipment for handling and installation. Site access and lifting capacity should be confirmed before delivery and installation.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

After installation, this pole is typically used to support multiple lighting fixtures mounted on cross arms. The number of fixtures per arm is determined by the 240 pound per arm load limit and the physical space available on each arm.

Operators can mount up to 2 cross arms per side, with a total of 2 to 4 cross arms per pole. This allows for flexible fixture placement to achieve desired lighting coverage.

Fixture maintenance and replacement are performed at height, so access equipment is required for ongoing service. The treated wood construction supports long-term outdoor use with routine inspection.

Day-to-day, the pole serves as a structural support for lighting and associated hardware, with no active adjustment required after initial installation and fixture mounting.

Safety, Certifications, and Warranty

LED Lighting Supply provides a 1 year warranty on this pole.

All safety and handling procedures for heavy timber poles should be followed during installation and maintenance.
