Our CCA Treated 40 Foot Wood Pole Class 5 Treated Ponderosa Pine Poles are grown, debarked, and treated in the United States. They are manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification. Poles are pressure treated and preservative treated to the latest American Wood Preservers Association standards to prevent damage from termites, decay and rot regardless of the species used.

Delivery is made with a flatbed truck and the customer is responsible for offloading. Offloading requires a fork lift or appropriate similar vehicle to offload - customer supplied. Customers are responsible for any costs associated with delivery rescheduling because of improper scheduling or not having the proper offloading equipment or area to store poles available at the time of delivery. Please contact a sales representative prior to purchasing to ensure all the project details are clear.

Pricing: Does not include cost of shipping. Shipping is available to the lower 48 USA states. We can supply a budgetary shipping quote or a firm shipping quote that is good for 14 days.

Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the pole), installation costs, or foundation design of light poles. Dimensions and specifications of poles are subject to change without notice but the pole top and butt dimensions will always be within ANSI specifications. Wood poles are the ideal option for most field projects as concrete poles require more frequent maintenance and replacement.

Please be advised that our wood poles are covered solely by a 1-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Product Overview

This 40 foot wood pole is manufactured from Ponderosa Pine and treated with CCA for long-term outdoor use. It is classified as ANSI Class 5 and meets AWPA standards for preservative treatment. The pole provides 34 feet of height above grade with a 6 foot direct burial depth. Typical weight ranges from 600 to 710 pounds. Minimum top circumference is 19 inches, with a minimum circumference of 34 inches measured 6 feet from the butt. The pole is debarked, pressure treated, and produced in the United States to meet utility and area lighting requirements.

Direct burial installation is supported, with no need for anchor base or additional foundation hardware. The CCA treatment protects against termites, decay, and rot. This pole is designed for structural support of lighting, netting, security equipment, and utility lines in outdoor environments where wood is preferred or required.

Where This Product Fits Best

This 40 foot treated wood pole is used in outdoor environments where elevated support is required for lighting, netting, security, or utility infrastructure. It is commonly installed in sports venues, equestrian facilities, and open areas where direct burial wood poles are specified for their structural and environmental characteristics.

  • Sports field and stadium lighting pole installations
  • Horse arena and equestrian facility pole applications
  • Security camera and surveillance pole mounting
  • Sports netting and barrier support structures
  • Utility line and area lighting pole installations

These environments typically require poles that can withstand outdoor exposure, provide stable support for mounted equipment, and meet regulatory or site-specific requirements for wood construction. The pole's treatment and dimensions are suited for locations with exposure to weather, soil contact, and potential pest activity.

Performance and Functional Considerations

The pole provides 34 feet of usable height above grade, supporting elevated mounting of lighting fixtures, cameras, netting, or utility lines. The ANSI Class 5 rating defines its structural capacity for typical area lighting and utility applications. CCA treatment extends service life by protecting against decay and insect damage.

Direct burial installation eliminates the need for separate foundations or anchor systems. The pole's diameter and circumference support standard mounting hardware for lighting arms, brackets, or netting attachments. Weight and size should be considered for handling and installation equipment selection.

Wood poles may require periodic inspection for surface condition and treatment integrity, especially in high-moisture or high-activity areas. The pole is not pre-drilled, allowing for field adaptation to specific mounting requirements.

Environmental factors such as soil type, drainage, and exposure to livestock or equipment should be evaluated to ensure long-term stability and performance.

Installation and Long-Term Use

Installation is performed by direct burial, with 6 feet of the pole set below grade. Proper backfill and compaction are required to maintain vertical alignment and load capacity. Handling equipment must accommodate the pole's weight and length.

CCA treatment provides resistance to rot and insect activity, supporting long-term use in outdoor and ground-contact environments. Periodic inspection is recommended to monitor for surface damage, checking, or mechanical impact from equipment or vehicles.

Mounting of lighting fixtures, cameras, or netting should follow manufacturer guidelines for attachment to wood poles. Field drilling is supported for custom bracket placement. The pole's dimensions accommodate a range of standard hardware.

Routine maintenance may include visual inspection, hardware tightening, and surface treatment touch-up if required by site conditions.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

After installation, the pole serves as a structural support for elevated lighting, netting, or security equipment. Adjustments are typically limited to hardware or fixture positioning, as the pole itself remains fixed in place. In sports lighting and stadium applications, the pole supports high-mount luminaires for uniform field illumination.

In horse arenas and equestrian facilities, the pole is used to mount lighting or netting at heights that minimize interference with activities below. For security camera installations, the pole provides a stable, elevated platform for wide-area surveillance coverage.

Utility and area lighting applications use the pole to support overhead lines or fixtures, with field adaptation for bracket and arm placement as needed. Maintenance interaction is generally limited to periodic inspection and hardware servicing.

The pole's wood construction allows for on-site modifications, such as drilling or bracket attachment, to accommodate changes in equipment or mounting requirements over time.

Safety, Certifications, and Warranty

This pole is manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification and meets AWPA standards for preservative treatment. CCA treatment is applied for resistance to termites, decay, and rot. The product is covered by a 1 year warranty.

Direct burial installation requires adherence to site safety protocols for excavation, lifting, and setting. The pole's structural rating supports typical area lighting and utility loads when installed according to guidelines.

Periodic inspection is recommended to ensure continued compliance with safety and performance expectations. Certification markings are present as required by regulatory standards.

Warranty coverage applies to manufacturing and treatment integrity for the specified period.
