Our 40 foot Class 1 CCA Treated Southern Yellow Pine Poles are grown, debarked, and treated in the United States. They are manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification. Poles are treated with preservatives to the latest American Wood Preservers Association standards to ensure rot and decay prevention. The long term durability of a wood utility pole is one of its main benefits

These 40 ft wood poles are perfect for sports fields, baseball fields or used as utility poles. You can add 1-2 light arms per side, 2-4 in total, but no more than 2 per side. Each arm can accommodate 240 lbs per arm. The number of arms and lights depends on the class of the utility pole you select. The pole length will determine how significant the taper is as with all timber utility poles.

Options Available:

Cross Arms (2-4 per pole, 1-2 per side) and Mounting Brackets. The customer is responsible for mounting Cross Arm after the poles are delivered. Poles do not ship with cross arms attached.

These are the lights we typically mount on the cross arms. Up to 6 lights per arm, not to exceed 240 total pounds of fixtures and hardware.

Delivery is made with a standard flatbed truck depending on pole lengths and the customer is responsible for offloading. Offloading requires a fork lift or appropriate similar vehicle to offload ? customer supplied. Customer is responsible for any costs associated with delivery rescheduling because of improper scheduling or not having the proper offloading equipment available at time of delivery. Installation should be done by a trained professional.

Pricing: Does not include price of shipping. Shipping is available to the lower 48 USA states. We can supply a budgetary shipping quote or a firm shipping quote that is good for 14 days.

Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the pole), installation costs, or foundation design of light poles. Dimensions and specifications of poles are subject to change without notice but the pole top and butt dimensions will always be within ANSI specifications. Wood poles are the ideal option for most field projects as concrete poles require more frequent maintenance and replacement. While our main product line is southern yellow pine, we at times are able to offer other species including douglas fir and red pine. CCA treatment generally will result in the poles being free of insects for decades to come.

Please be advised that our wood poles are covered solely by a 1 year-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Product Overview

This 40-foot Class 1 wood pole is manufactured from Southern Yellow Pine and treated with CCA preservative. The total pole height is 40 feet, with 34 feet above grade and 6 feet of direct burial depth below grade. Pole weight ranges from 1,640 to 1,940 pounds.

The pole is manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification and treated to American Wood Preservers Association standards for rot and decay prevention. All poles are grown, debarked, and treated in the United States.

Minimum circumference at the pole top is 27 inches, with a minimum diameter of 8.594 inches. At 6 feet from the butt, minimum circumference is 41 inches with a minimum diameter of 13.051 inches. The taper from base to top is characteristic of timber utility poles at this length.

Where This Product Fits Best

This pole is appropriate for sports field lighting, baseball field lighting, and utility pole applications where a 34-foot above-grade mounting height is required. The Class 1 rating and cross arm capacity support multiple fixture mounting positions for area lighting layouts.

Direct burial installation makes this pole suitable for sites where concrete foundations or anchor bases are not part of the design. The CCA treatment provides long-term resistance to rot and decay in ground-contact conditions.

Performance and Functional Considerations

The pole supports 2 to 4 cross arms total, with a maximum of 2 cross arms per side. Each cross arm can hold up to 240 pounds of attached weight, which includes fixtures, mounting hardware, and any additional components.

Cross arms and mounting brackets are available separately. Poles ship without cross arms attached. The customer is responsible for mounting cross arms after delivery. Up to 6 light fixtures can be mounted per arm, provided total weight does not exceed 240 pounds per arm.

Installation and Long-Term Use

Installation requires direct burial to a depth of 6 feet. The weight range of 1,640 to 1,940 pounds requires appropriate lifting and setting equipment during installation.

The CCA preservative treatment extends pole service life by protecting the wood from rot and decay. This long-term durability is a primary characteristic of treated wood utility poles in outdoor and ground-contact applications.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

Facility operators use this pole where elevated mounting positions are needed for sports lighting or area lighting across large outdoor spaces. The 34-foot above-grade height positions fixtures high enough to cover playing surfaces while keeping the light source above typical activity zones.

Cross arm configuration is determined by the lighting layout. With up to 2 arms per side and 4 arms total, operators have flexibility in how fixtures are distributed around the pole. Each arm''s 240-pound capacity allows for multiple fixtures per arm when weights are calculated correctly.

Once installed, the pole requires no active adjustment. Cross arm positions are fixed at installation, and fixture aiming is handled at the luminaire level. The wood structure is static and does not require ongoing tensioning or mechanical maintenance.

Safety, Certifications, and Warranty
