Our CCA Treated 35 Foot Wood Pole Class 2 Treated Ponderosa Pine Poles are grown, debarked, and treated in the United States. They are manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification. Poles are pressure treated and preservative treated to the latest American Wood Preservers Association standards to prevent damage from termites, decay and rot regardless of the species used.

Delivery is made with a flatbed truck and the customer is responsible for offloading. Offloading requires a fork lift or appropriate similar vehicle to offload - customer supplied. Customers are responsible for any costs associated with delivery rescheduling because of improper scheduling or not having the proper offloading equipment or area to store poles available at the time of delivery. Please contact a sales representative prior to purchasing to ensure all the project details are clear.

Pricing: Does not include cost of shipping. Shipping is available to the lower 48 USA states. We can supply a budgetary shipping quote or a firm shipping quote that is good for 14 days.

Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the pole), installation costs, or foundation design of light poles. Dimensions and specifications of poles are subject to change without notice but the pole top and butt dimensions will always be within ANSI specifications. Wood poles are the ideal option for most field projects as concrete poles require more frequent maintenance and replacement.

Please be advised that our wood poles are covered solely by a 1-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Product Overview

This 35 Foot Wood Pole, Class 2, is manufactured from Ponderosa Pine and pressure treated with CCA preservative. It is designed for direct burial installation in outdoor environments where structural support for lighting or utility distribution is required. The pole meets ANSI O5.1 standards and is suitable for use in sports field lighting, municipal lighting, and utility distribution projects. Typical installations include baseball, softball, soccer, and football fields, as well as rural roadway and area lighting where wood poles are preferred for their non-conductive properties and natural aesthetics.

The pole provides a total length of 35 feet, with 29.5 feet above grade and 5.5 feet below grade for stable direct burial. It is commonly specified for new sports field lighting installations and utility distribution in both municipal and rural settings.

Core Performance and Output

This Class 2 wood pole supports substantial fixture and crossarm loads for sports field and area lighting applications. The 730 lb pole weight and minimum top circumference of 25 inches provide structural capacity for mounting multiple luminaires or utility hardware. The pole?s CCA treatment ensures long-term resistance to decay, termites, and rot, supporting reliable performance in outdoor environments.

Wind load and EPA (Effective Projected Area) capacity are determined by the pole?s class, diameter, and installation depth. For 35-foot installations, this pole is suitable for typical sports field lighting layouts and utility distribution spans. Excessive fixture weight or large sail area at the top may require engineering review to confirm structural adequacy, especially in high-wind regions.

Adjustability and Control Options

This wood pole does not include integrated adjustability or control features. Fixture aiming, bracket mounting, and crossarm installation are determined by the hardware and luminaires selected for the project. The pole?s round, tapered profile allows for flexible mounting of sports lighting fixtures, area lights, or utility equipment using standard through-bolts, lag screws, or banding systems.

Control systems, such as lighting contactors or remote switching, are typically mounted at the base or on adjacent structures and are not integrated into the pole itself.

Longevity and Reliability

The pole is pressure treated with CCA to meet American Wood Preservers Association standards, providing resistance to decay, rot, and insect damage. In typical outdoor installations, treated Ponderosa Pine poles offer multi-decade service life when properly installed and maintained. The direct burial design eliminates the need for anchor bolts or base plates, reducing points of corrosion or mechanical failure.

Periodic inspection for ground-line decay and mechanical damage is recommended. Service life may be reduced in poorly drained soils or where mechanical impact is likely.

Build Quality and Physical Characteristics

This pole is manufactured from Ponderosa Pine grown and processed in the United States. It features a minimum top outside diameter of 8 inches and a minimum circumference of 40 inches measured 6 feet from the butt. The pole is debarked, shaped, and pressure treated to ANSI O5.1 specifications for Class 2 wood poles.

The natural wood finish provides a non-conductive, corrosion-resistant structure suitable for outdoor use. The pole weighs approximately 730 lbs and is designed for direct burial installation with 5.5 feet below grade for stability.

Where This Product Fits Best

This 35-foot Class 2 wood pole is intended for outdoor environments where structural support for lighting or utility distribution is required. It is commonly used in sports field lighting, municipal lighting, and rural area lighting projects where wood poles are preferred for their non-conductive properties and ease of installation.

  • baseball field lighting
  • sports field lighting
  • football field lighting
  • utility distribution
  • municipal lighting
  • area lighting
  • rural roadway lighting
  • agricultural property lighting

The CCA treatment and direct burial design make this pole suitable for wet, humid, or insect-prone environments. It is not recommended for coastal or marine applications where saltwater exposure is present.

Installation and Long-Term Use

Installation is direct burial, requiring excavation to a depth of 5.5 feet. The pole should be set in well-drained soil and tamped for stability. Standard hardware can be used for mounting luminaires, crossarms, or utility equipment. No base plate or anchor bolts are required.

Routine inspection at the ground line is recommended to monitor for decay or mechanical damage. When installed according to ANSI and AWPA guidelines, treated wood poles provide reliable long-term performance in outdoor environments. Removal and replacement require excavation and may involve heavy equipment due to pole weight.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

Typical mounting heights place the pole top at 29.5 feet above grade, supporting sports lighting fixtures, area lights, or utility lines. Fixture spacing and pole layout are determined by the lighting design and field dimensions. For sports field lighting, poles are often installed at field corners or along sidelines to provide uniform coverage.

Fixture count and crossarm configuration depend on the required light levels and field size. Higher mounting heights allow for broader light distribution but may require larger fixtures or increased pole count to maintain uniformity. Increasing fixture load or sail area may require engineering review for wind loading.

Safety, Certifications, and Warranty

This pole is manufactured to ANSI O5.1 standards and treated to American Wood Preservers Association requirements. The CCA treatment provides resistance to decay, termites, and rot. The pole is non-conductive and suitable for use in electrical distribution and lighting support applications.

A 1-year warranty is provided. All safety and installation practices should follow applicable codes and standards for wood pole installations.
