Delivery is made with a flatbed truck and the customer is responsible for offloading. Offloading requires a forklift or appropriate similar vehicle to offload - customer supplied. Customer is responsible for any costs associated with delivery rescheduling because of improper scheduling or not having the proper offloading equipment available at the time of delivery.

Pricing: Does not include cost of shipping. Shipping is available to the lower 48 USA states. We can supply a budgetary shipping quote or a firm shipping quote that is good for 14 days to your delivery location.

Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the pole), installation costs, or foundation design of light poles. Dimensions and specifications of poles are subject to change without notice but the pole top and butt dimensions will always be within ANSI specifications. Wood poles are the ideal option for most field projects as concrete poles require more frequent maintenance and replacement. While our main product line is southern yellow pine, we at times are able to offer other species including Douglas fir and red pine. CCA treatment generally will result in the poles being free of insects for decades to come.

Please be advised that our wood poles are covered solely by a 1-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Product Overview

This 30 Foot Wood Pole is a Class 6, CCA-treated Southern Yellow Pine utility pole designed for direct burial installation. The pole provides a total height of 30 feet, with 25 feet above grade and 5 feet below grade. It is manufactured to ANSI O5.1 standards and meets American Wood Preservers Association requirements for decay and insect resistance. The pole is suitable for supporting lighting and utility loads in outdoor environments where wood construction is preferred or required. Optional 8-foot and 10-foot cross arms are available to accommodate project-specific mounting needs.

Each pole is grown, debarked, and treated in the United States. The CCA treatment process extends service life in demanding field conditions. The pole?s dimensions and strength rating are appropriate for sports field lighting, area lighting, and utility distribution where a 30-foot mounting height is specified. Weight ranges from 510 to 605 lbs depending on wood density and moisture content at the time of treatment.

Where This Product Fits Best

This pole is intended for outdoor environments requiring elevated mounting of lighting or utility equipment. Typical installations include sports fields, recreational areas, and rural or municipal sites where wood poles are standard practice. The 30-foot height is suitable for mid-scale field lighting and area illumination, as well as utility distribution in non-urban settings.

  • baseball field lighting
  • sports field lighting
  • football field lighting
  • utility distribution
  • area lighting
  • municipal lighting
  • parking lot lighting
  • agricultural property lighting

The pole is designed for direct burial in soil and is compatible with standard field installation practices. CCA treatment provides resistance to decay, insects, and ground contact exposure. The product is suited for locations where wood poles are preferred for cost, appearance, or regulatory reasons.

Performance and Functional Considerations

The Class 6 rating defines the minimum strength and dimensional requirements for this pole. At 30 feet total length, it supports typical lighting and utility loads for sports fields and area lighting applications. The minimum pole top circumference is 17 inches, with a 5.4-inch minimum top outside diameter. Six feet from the butt, the circumference is at least 25 inches, with an 8-inch outside diameter.

CCA treatment extends service life in outdoor and ground-contact environments. The pole is not intended for high-wind coastal zones or locations with extreme ice loading without additional engineering review. Cross arms, if required, must be specified based on fixture weight, wind load, and mounting configuration. The pole?s weight and dimensions require equipment for safe handling and installation.

Direct burial installation eliminates the need for anchor bolts or base plates. The 5-foot burial depth provides stability for lighting and utility loads at the specified height. The pole is compatible with standard hardware for field lighting, area lighting, and utility distribution.

Installation and Long-Term Use

Installation requires excavation to a minimum depth of 5 feet, with backfill and compaction per standard utility pole practices. The pole should be handled with lifting equipment rated for its weight. Cross arms and hardware must be installed according to project requirements and local codes.

Long-term performance depends on proper burial, drainage, and avoidance of mechanical damage during installation. CCA treatment protects against rot and insect attack, but periodic inspection is recommended to monitor for surface damage or decay at ground line. The pole is suitable for use with wood, steel, or composite cross arms as required by the application.

Replacement or removal at end of service life follows standard utility pole procedures. The product is not intended for reuse after removal from service. Hardware and fixtures should be selected for compatibility with wood pole mounting and environmental exposure.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

This 30-foot wood pole is commonly installed for mounting sports field lighting fixtures at baseball fields, football fields, and multi-use sports fields. It is also used for area lighting in parking lots, municipal parks, and agricultural properties where wood poles are standard. In rural and municipal settings, the pole supports utility distribution lines and lighting circuits.

Cross arms are often added to support multiple fixtures or to provide separation for utility conductors. The pole?s height and class make it suitable for mid-scale lighting layouts, providing adequate coverage for field and area illumination. Installers typically use this pole where a balance of mounting height, strength, and cost is required, and where wood construction is preferred or specified by local standards.

Safety, Certifications, and Warranty

This pole is manufactured to ANSI O5.1 standards. CCA treatment meets American Wood Preservers Association requirements. The product is intended for direct burial installation in accordance with standard utility and lighting pole practices. Handling and installation should follow OSHA and local safety guidelines for lifting, excavation, and working at height.

The pole includes a 1-year warranty covering material and manufacturing defects. Cross arms and mounting hardware must be specified and installed per project requirements. The product is not certified for use in marine or corrosive coastal environments without additional treatment or engineering review.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the maximum fixture load this pole can support?
Fixture and cross arm loading must be calculated based on pole class, mounting height, wind exposure, and local code requirements. Consult a structural engineer for site-specific loading limits.

Is this pole suitable for coastal or marine environments?
This pole is not intended for marine or high-salinity environments without additional treatment. For coastal applications, consider fiberglass or steel poles with appropriate corrosion resistance.

Can this pole be cut or drilled in the field?
Field drilling for hardware is common, but any field modification should be sealed to maintain treatment integrity. Cutting is not recommended as it may compromise structural and treatment performance.

Are cross arms included?
Cross arms are available as optional accessories in 8-foot and 10-foot lengths. Selection depends on fixture layout and project requirements.
