Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the pole), installation costs, or foundation design of light poles. Dimensions and specifications of poles are subject to change without notice but the pole top and butt dimensions will always be within ANSI specifications. Wood poles are the ideal option for most field projects as concrete poles require more frequent maintenance and replacement.

Please be advised that our wood poles are covered solely by a 1-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Product Overview

The 30 Foot Wood Pole, Class 5, is crafted from Ponderosa Pine and treated with CCA for enhanced durability. Designed for direct burial installation, this pole is suitable for various outdoor lighting applications, particularly in sports fields and stadiums. With a total height of 30 feet and 25 feet above grade, it meets ANSI O5.1 standards, ensuring reliability and compliance in demanding environments.

This pole is ideal for installations requiring a robust and natural material solution. Its weight ranges from 375 to 450 pounds, making it manageable for installation while providing the necessary structural support for lighting fixtures. The pole's treatment protects against termites, decay, and rot, ensuring longevity in outdoor settings.

Core Performance and Output

The structural capacity of this 30-foot wood pole is defined by its Class 5 rating, which supports a range of lighting fixtures commonly used in sports and recreational fields. The pole's environmental performance is enhanced by its CCA treatment, offering resistance to decay and insect damage. The pole's dimensions, including a minimum top circumference of 19 inches and a circumference of 30 inches six feet from the butt, provide stability and support for mounted fixtures.

With a direct burial installation method, this pole is designed to withstand typical wind loads encountered in open field environments. However, it is essential to consider the pole's weight and dimensions during installation to ensure proper handling and placement.

Adjustability and Control Options

This wood pole does not include integrated adjustability or control options. It is designed to serve as a fixed structural support for lighting fixtures. Any adjustability or control features would need to be incorporated into the lighting fixtures themselves or through additional mounting hardware.

For installations requiring specific lighting angles or orientations, consider using adjustable brackets or mounts compatible with the pole's dimensions and material.

Longevity and Reliability

The 30 Foot Wood Pole is treated with CCA, providing protection against environmental factors such as moisture, insects, and decay. This treatment extends the pole's lifespan, making it a reliable choice for long-term outdoor installations. The Ponderosa Pine material offers natural resilience and strength, suitable for supporting lighting fixtures in various weather conditions.

Regular inspections and maintenance are recommended to ensure the pole remains in optimal condition, particularly in areas with extreme weather or environmental stressors.

Build Quality and Physical Characteristics

Constructed from Ponderosa Pine, this wood pole offers a natural aesthetic while providing the necessary structural integrity for outdoor lighting applications. The pole's dimensions, including a minimum top diameter of 6 inches and a diameter of 9.5 inches six feet from the butt, ensure stability and support for mounted fixtures.

The pole's weight, ranging from 375 to 450 pounds, requires careful handling during installation. Its direct burial design simplifies installation, eliminating the need for additional mounting hardware.

Where This Product Fits Best

This wood pole is best suited for outdoor environments where natural materials are preferred, and structural support for lighting is required. Its applications include:

  • sports field lighting
  • stadium lighting
  • recreational field lighting
  • rural roadway lighting
  • agricultural property lighting

The pole's CCA treatment ensures durability in various environmental conditions, making it suitable for installations in areas prone to moisture and insect exposure.

Installation and Long-Term Use

Installation of the 30 Foot Wood Pole involves direct burial, requiring a depth of 5 feet below grade. This method provides stability and support for the pole and any mounted fixtures. The pole's weight and dimensions necessitate the use of appropriate equipment and techniques during installation to ensure safety and proper placement.

For long-term use, regular inspections are recommended to assess the pole's condition and address any signs of wear or damage. Proper maintenance will extend the pole's lifespan and ensure continued performance in supporting lighting fixtures.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

Commonly used in sports fields and recreational areas, this wood pole supports lighting fixtures at mounting heights of up to 25 feet above grade. The spacing and layout of poles depend on the specific lighting requirements and fixture types used in the installation.

While higher mounting heights can reduce the number of poles needed, they may also require more powerful fixtures to achieve desired light levels. Consideration of fixture output and pole placement is essential for optimal lighting performance.

Safety, Certifications, and Warranty

This wood pole is ANSI O5.1 compliant, ensuring it meets industry standards for safety and performance. The CCA treatment provides additional protection against environmental hazards, contributing to the pole's overall safety and reliability.

A 1-year warranty covers the pole, providing assurance of its quality and performance. Regular maintenance and inspections are recommended to maintain safety and extend the pole's lifespan.
