Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the pole), installation costs, or foundation design of light poles. Dimensions and specifications of poles are subject to change without notice but the pole top and butt dimensions will always be within ANSI specifications. Wood poles are the ideal option for most field projects as concrete poles require more frequent maintenance and replacement.

Please be advised that our wood poles are covered solely by a 1-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Product Overview

This 30 foot Class 4 wood light and utility pole is a CCA-treated Ponderosa Pine pole for direct burial installation. It provides 25 feet of height above grade with a 5 foot buried section.

The pole is manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification and treated to current American Wood Preservers Association standards. Its dimensions and direct-burial configuration support field-installed lighting and utility distribution structures.

Core Performance and Output

Structural performance is based on a 30 foot overall length, Class 4 ANSI classification, and direct burial installation. The pole weighs 430 to 505 pounds and has a minimum top circumference of 21 inches.

The minimum circumference at 6 feet from the butt is 32.5 inches. Minimum top outside diameter is 6.7 inches, and outside diameter at 6 feet from the butt is 10.3 inches.

This product data does not establish an EPA rating, wind-load rating, fixture weight limit, or fixture EPA limit. Final pole loading must account for the installed equipment and site conditions.

Adjustability and Control Options

This is a fixed-length wood pole with no integral adjustability or lighting controls. Installed height is set by the 5 foot direct-burial depth.

Lighting controls, fixtures, brackets, wiring, and utility hardware are separate project components. Their compatibility and loading requirements are not established by the supplied pole data.

Longevity and Reliability

The Ponderosa Pine pole receives CCA pressure treatment to help prevent termite damage, decay, and rot. Treatment is applied in accordance with current American Wood Preservers Association standards.

The stated warranty is 1 year. Long-term condition depends on installation quality, burial conditions, installed loading, and ongoing inspection of the pole and attached equipment.

Build Quality and Physical Characteristics

The pole is grown, debarked, and treated in the United States. It uses Ponderosa Pine construction with a Class 4 ANSI designation.

Its overall length is 30 feet, with 25 feet above grade and 5 feet below grade. Pole weight ranges from 430 to 505 pounds, which should be accounted for during handling and installation planning.

Where This Product Fits Best

This pole fits direct-burial sports field lighting and utility distribution installations where a 25 foot above-grade wood pole is appropriate. It is also used for selected outdoor property and roadway lighting applications listed below.

  • baseball field lighting
  • softball field lighting
  • soccer field lighting
  • football field lighting
  • sports field lighting
  • driving range lighting
  • recreational field lighting
  • utility distribution

CCA treatment addresses termite damage, decay, and rot. Site loading, soil conditions, and attached equipment requirements still need to be evaluated because no wind-load or fixture-support rating is supplied.

Installation and Long-Term Use

The pole installs by direct burial with 5 feet below grade and 25 feet remaining above grade. Installation crews need to account for the 430 to 505 pound pole weight during unloading, handling, and setting.

Verify the finished above-grade height before placing attached lighting or utility equipment. Periodic inspection should include pole condition, burial-area condition, and the condition of attached hardware.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

For baseball field lighting, softball field lighting, soccer field lighting, football field lighting, and sports field lighting, this pole is set with its specified 5 foot burial depth to provide 25 feet above grade. Layout positions are determined by the field lighting plan and the attached equipment loading.

For driving range lighting, recreational field lighting, and utility distribution, pole placement follows the required layout and service routing. Pole spacing varies with the lighting layout or utility distribution layout and cannot be established from the supplied pole data.

Safety, Certifications, and Warranty

This pole is manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification. The CCA treatment meets current American Wood Preservers Association standards.

The warranty period is 1 year. The supplied data does not list an EPA rating, wind-load rating, or fixture support limit.
