Product Overview

The 30 Foot Wood Pole, Class 4, is crafted from Ponderosa Pine and treated with CCA to ensure durability and resistance to decay. Designed for direct burial installation, this pole is suitable for various outdoor lighting applications, particularly in sports fields and stadiums. With a height of 30 feet and a weight range of 430-505 lbs, it meets ANSI O5.1 specifications, making it a reliable choice for supporting lighting fixtures in demanding environments.

This pole is ideal for installations where a robust and natural-looking support structure is required. Its treatment to AWPA standards ensures long-term performance against environmental factors, making it suitable for both urban and rural settings.

Core Performance and Output

The structural capacity of this wood pole is defined by its Class 4 rating, which indicates its ability to support lighting fixtures in various outdoor environments. The pole's 30-foot height, with 25 feet above grade, provides ample elevation for effective light distribution across large areas. The CCA treatment enhances its resistance to termites and decay, ensuring longevity.

With a minimum pole top circumference of 21 inches and a circumference of 32.5 inches six feet from the butt, this pole offers substantial support for lighting fixtures. The direct burial installation method simplifies the setup process, although care must be taken to ensure proper depth and stability in varying soil conditions.

Adjustability and Control Options

This wood pole does not include integrated adjustability or control options. Its primary function is to provide a stable and durable support structure for lighting fixtures. Any adjustability or control features would need to be incorporated into the lighting fixtures themselves or through external systems.

For installations requiring specific lighting angles or control, consider pairing this pole with compatible fixtures that offer adjustable mounting brackets or integrated control systems.

Longevity and Reliability

The CCA treatment applied to this Ponderosa Pine pole ensures resistance to environmental degradation, including rot and termite damage. This treatment, combined with adherence to AWPA standards, provides a reliable solution for long-term outdoor use.

With a one-year warranty, this pole offers peace of mind regarding its structural integrity and performance. Regular inspections and maintenance can further extend its lifespan, particularly in harsh environmental conditions.

Build Quality and Physical Characteristics

Constructed from Ponderosa Pine, this pole is both robust and aesthetically pleasing, blending well with natural surroundings. The wood is debarked and pressure-treated to enhance its durability and resistance to environmental factors.

The pole's dimensions, including a minimum top diameter of 6.7 inches and a diameter of 10.3 inches six feet from the butt, provide a solid foundation for supporting various lighting fixtures. Its weight range of 430-505 lbs ensures stability once installed.

  • recreational field lighting

The pole's CCA treatment ensures it can withstand various environmental conditions, making it suitable for both urban and rural installations. Its direct burial installation method is ideal for areas where a permanent and stable lighting solution is required.

Installation and Long-Term Use

Installation involves direct burial, requiring a depth of 5 feet below grade to ensure stability. Proper site preparation and soil assessment are crucial to prevent shifting or instability over time. The pole's weight and dimensions necessitate appropriate equipment and personnel for safe handling and installation.

Long-term use is supported by the pole's CCA treatment, which protects against decay and termite damage. Regular inspections and maintenance, such as checking for signs of wear or environmental impact, can help maintain its structural integrity and performance.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

Commonly installed at sports fields and stadiums, this pole supports lighting fixtures at heights that provide optimal coverage and illumination. Typical mounting heights range from 25 feet above grade, allowing for effective light distribution across large areas.

Spacing and layout patterns depend on the specific lighting requirements and fixture types used. While higher mounting heights can reduce the number of poles needed, they may also require more powerful fixtures to maintain adequate light levels.

Safety, Certifications, and Warranty

This wood pole is manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specifications and treated to AWPA standards, ensuring compliance with industry safety and quality standards. The CCA treatment provides additional protection against environmental factors.

A one-year warranty covers the pole, offering assurance of its quality and performance. Regular maintenance and inspections are recommended to ensure continued safety and reliability.
