Product Overview

This is a 30-foot above grade square fiberglass light pole with a 5-inch width, designed for direct burial installation. The total pole length is 36 feet, with 6 feet installed below grade. The pole weighs 149 pounds and has a wall thickness of .25 inches.

The fiberglass construction is finished with a fluoropolymer coating and is available in Bronze, Black, White, Gray, or custom colors. A top cap is included with the pole.

Where This Product Fits Best

This pole is suited for parking lots, pathways, perimeter lighting, and other outdoor applications where a 30-foot mounting height is appropriate. The fiberglass material performs well in coastal areas, chemical exposure zones, and environments where steel poles would be subject to corrosion.

The non-conductive properties of fiberglass make this pole appropriate for locations where electrical conductivity presents a concern, such as substations or areas with overhead electrical hazards. The material does not rot, rust, or corrode, making it a practical choice for humid, wet, or salt-air environments.

Performance and Functional Considerations

Wind load capacity is rated by Effective Projected Area at different wind speeds. This pole supports an EPA of 13.0 square feet at 70 mph, 8.0 square feet at 80 mph, 4.7 square feet at 90 mph, and 2.4 square feet at 100 mph. Fixture selection must account for these limits based on local wind conditions and the combined EPA of all mounted luminaires and accessories.

Fiberglass is stronger than equivalent steel in both compression and tension. The pole is designed to flex under wind load and return to its original shape rather than permanently deform or snap. This characteristic provides structural resilience in high wind events.

The fluoropolymer coating includes 25-year UV protection, which resists breakdown from prolonged sun exposure. The fiberglass material does not sustain flame, as there is no fuel source within the pole structure.

Installation and Long-Term Use

This pole installs by direct burial with 6 feet below grade. No anchor bolt base or concrete foundation template is required. The 149-pound weight allows for handling with smaller equipment compared to steel poles of similar height.

Fiberglass requires no ongoing corrosion protection, repainting for rust, or cathodic protection. The pole surface maintains its finish without the deterioration common to steel or aluminum in corrosive environments.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

Facilities typically select this pole where long-term corrosion resistance matters more than initial cost comparison with steel. Coastal properties, industrial yards with chemical exposure, and locations with salt truck operations during winter months are common installations.

The direct burial method simplifies foundation work. Crews auger a hole to the required depth, set the pole, and backfill. This approach reduces concrete work and curing time compared to anchor base installations.

When mounting fixtures, the EPA ratings determine how much wind load the pole can safely carry. Facilities in higher wind zones or those mounting multiple fixtures must verify that total EPA stays within the rated capacity for local design wind speed.

Safety, Certifications, and Warranty

This pole is covered by a 7-year warranty.

The fiberglass material is non-conductive. The pole does not sustain flame due to the absence of combustible fuel in the material composition.
