Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the pole), installation costs, or foundation design of light poles. Dimensions and specifications of poles are subject to change without notice but the pole top and butt dimensions will always be within ANSI specifications. Wood poles are the ideal option for most field projects as concrete poles require more frequent maintenance and replacement. While our main product line is southern yellow pine, we at times are able to offer other species including Douglas fir and red pine. CCA treatment generally will result in the poles being free of insects for decades to come.

Please be advised that our wood poles are covered solely by a 1-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Where This Product Fits Best

This 25 foot Class 4 wood pole is suitable for utility, lighting, and telecom applications where direct burial installation is required. It is commonly used for mounting area lighting, supporting overhead lines, or providing structural support for communication equipment.

The CCA treatment and Southern Yellow Pine construction make it appropriate for outdoor environments where resistance to decay and insects is necessary. The pole's dimensions and strength class support use in commercial, industrial, and municipal settings.

Direct burial installation is standard for this pole, eliminating the need for anchor bases or separate mounting hardware. The pole is intended for permanent installations where long-term structural integrity is required.

Performance and Functional Considerations

The Class 4 rating defines the pole's strength and load-bearing capacity. The 25 foot height allows for mounting luminaires, utility lines, or telecom equipment at a practical elevation for most site requirements.

Southern Yellow Pine provides a balance of strength and workability. The CCA treatment extends service life by protecting against rot and insect activity in buried and above-grade sections.

The specified circumferences and outside diameters ensure compatibility with standard hardware and bracket systems used in lighting and utility applications. The weight range should be considered for handling and installation planning.

Direct burial installation requires excavation to a depth of 4.5 feet, with 20.5 feet remaining above grade after installation.

Installation and Long-Term Use

This pole is designed for direct burial. Installation involves excavating to the specified depth and setting the pole with proper backfill and compaction. No anchor base or separate foundation is required.

The CCA treatment protects the wood from decay and insect damage over time, supporting long-term use in outdoor environments. Southern Yellow Pine is commonly used for utility poles due to its durability and structural properties.

Handling and setting the pole requires equipment capable of managing the 510-600 lb weight. Standard pole hardware and mounting accessories are compatible with the specified diameters and circumferences.

Routine inspection of the above-grade and groundline sections is recommended to monitor for physical damage or environmental wear over the service life of the pole.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

After installation, this 25 foot wood pole is used to support area lighting fixtures, overhead utility lines, or telecom equipment. The height above grade allows for effective placement of luminaires or cables to achieve required clearances and coverage.

The treated wood construction allows the pole to remain in place for extended periods with minimal maintenance. You can attach standard brackets, crossarms, or mounting hardware directly to the pole using conventional fasteners.

In day-to-day operation, the pole serves as a structural support. Adjustments or changes typically involve adding or relocating mounted equipment, which can be done using standard tools and hardware compatible with the pole's dimensions.

Environmental exposure is managed by the CCA treatment, reducing the need for frequent surface treatments or repairs. The pole remains stable in typical outdoor conditions encountered in utility and lighting applications.
