Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the pole), installation costs, or foundation design of light poles. Dimensions and specifications of poles are subject to change without notice but the pole top and butt dimensions will always be within ANSI specifications. Wood poles are the ideal option for most field projects as concrete poles require more frequent maintenance and replacement.
Please be advised that our wood poles are covered solely by a 1-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Product Overview
This is a 20 foot wood pole manufactured from Ponderosa Pine and treated with CCA preservative. The pole is classified as ANSI Class 5 and is designed for direct burial installation.
The total length of the pole is 20 feet, with 16 feet remaining above grade after installation and 4 feet buried below grade. The pole weight ranges from 200 to 300 pounds depending on the specific piece.
Minimum pole top circumference is 19 inches, and minimum circumference 6 feet from the butt is 25 inches. The pole top outside diameter is at least 6.04 inches, and the outside diameter 6 feet from the butt is at least 7.95 inches.
This pole is pressure treated to resist termites, decay, and rot. It is manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification and meets current American Wood Preservers Association standards.
Where This Product Fits Best
This 20 foot Class 5 wood pole is suited for outdoor lighting and utility applications where a direct burial wood pole is required. It is commonly used in parking lots, roadways, perimeter lighting, and general area lighting installations.
The CCA treatment and Ponderosa Pine construction make it appropriate for environments where resistance to decay and insect damage is needed. The pole is intended for use in locations where a 16 foot mounting height above grade is specified.
Direct burial installation is required, so this pole is best suited for sites where excavation and backfill are feasible. It is not designed for anchor base or flange mounting.
Performance and Functional Considerations
The ANSI Class 5 rating defines the structural capacity of the pole for supporting lighting fixtures, brackets, and other mounted equipment within the class limits. The 20 foot length with 4 feet below grade provides stability for typical area and roadway lighting loads.
CCA treatment extends the service life of the pole by protecting against rot and insect attack. The Ponderosa Pine material provides a balance of strength and workability for field modifications or drilling as needed.
The pole's outside diameter and circumference at key points support compatibility with standard lighting arms, tenons, and hardware designed for wood pole mounting.
Installation and Long-Term Use
This pole is installed by direct burial, with 4 feet of the pole set below grade. Proper backfill and compaction are required to ensure stability and long-term performance.
The pressure-treated Ponderosa Pine construction allows for outdoor use in a range of climates. Routine inspection for physical damage and hardware condition is recommended as part of ongoing maintenance.
The pole weight of 200-300 pounds requires appropriate equipment and handling during installation. Field drilling and hardware attachment can be performed using standard wood pole practices.
How This Fixture Is Commonly Used
After installation, this wood pole is typically used to support area lighting fixtures, utility lines, or other outdoor equipment. The 16 foot above-grade height provides clearance for luminaires and helps achieve uniform light distribution in open areas.
Facility teams can attach lighting arms, brackets, or crossarms directly to the pole using standard wood pole hardware. The treated surface resists decay and insect activity, reducing the need for frequent replacement or repair.
Routine checks for pole integrity and hardware tightness are part of ongoing maintenance. The pole can be climbed or accessed using approved wood pole climbing equipment if required for fixture servicing.
