Our CCA Treated 20 Foot Wood Pole Class 5 Treated Ponderosa Pine Poles are grown, debarked, and treated in the United States. They are manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification. Poles are pressure treated and preservative treated to the latest American Wood Preservers Association standards to prevent damage from termites, decay and rot regardless of the species used.

Our 20 ft round wood poles are perfect for sports fields, baseball fields, and a utility pole project. You can add up to 2 light arms per pole. Each arm can accommodate 240 lbs per arm. Number of arms and lights depends on the class of pole you select. The class will determine the diameter at the base. Availability can change based on the quantity and length required as different sizes can have different lead times. Our poles are built with durability in mind to ensure long-lasting performance.

Options Available:

Cross Arms (2 per pole, 1 per side) and Mounting Brackets. Customer is responsible for mounting Cross Arm after poles are delivered. Poles do not ship with cross arms attached.

These are the lights we typically mount on the cross arms. Up to 6 lights per arm, not to exceed 240 total pounds of fixtures and hardware.

Delivery is made with a flatbed truck and the customer is responsible for offloading. Offloading requires a fork lift or appropriate similar vehicle to offload - customer supplied. Customers are responsible for any costs associated with delivery rescheduling because of improper scheduling or not having the proper offloading equipment or area to store poles available at the time of delivery. Please contact a sales representative prior to purchasing to ensure all the project details are clear.

Pricing: Does not include cost of shipping. Shipping is available to the lower 48 USA states. We can supply a budgetary shipping quote or a firm shipping quote that is good for 14 days.

Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the pole), installation costs, or foundation design of light poles. Dimensions and specifications of poles are subject to change without notice but the pole top and butt dimensions will always be within ANSI specifications. Wood poles are the ideal option for most field projects as concrete poles require more frequent maintenance and replacement.

Please be advised that our wood poles are covered solely by a 1 year-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Product Overview

This 20-foot Class 5 wood pole is manufactured from Ponderosa Pine and pressure treated with CCA preservative. The pole is built to ANSI O5.1 specification and treated to American Wood Preservers Association standards for protection against termites, decay, and rot.

The total pole height is 20 feet, with 16 feet of usable height above grade and 4 feet of buried depth below grade. Pole weight ranges from 200 to 300 pounds. Minimum circumference at the pole top is 19 inches (6.047 inches diameter), and minimum circumference 6 feet from the butt is 25 inches (7.957 inches diameter).

This pole is grown, debarked, and treated in the United States. It is designed for direct burial installation without a separate foundation.

Where This Product Fits Best

This Class 5 pole is sized for sports field lighting, baseball field lighting, and utility pole applications where a 16-foot above-grade mounting height is sufficient. The pole accepts up to 2 light arms, one per side, with each arm rated for up to 240 pounds of fixtures and hardware.

The direct burial installation method and CCA treatment make this pole appropriate for outdoor ground-mounted applications where long-term resistance to moisture, insects, and decay is required.

Performance and Functional Considerations

Class 5 designation defines the structural capacity and taper profile of this pole. The minimum diameter specifications at the top and 6 feet from the butt determine the fixture mounting options and load capacity at different heights along the pole.

Each cross arm can support up to 6 light fixtures, provided the combined weight of fixtures and mounting hardware does not exceed 240 pounds per arm. The number of arms and lights that can be installed depends on the class of pole selected, as the class determines the base diameter and overall structural rating.

Availability may vary based on quantity and length required, as different sizes can have different lead times.

Installation and Long-Term Use

This pole is installed using direct burial methods with a 4-foot embedment depth. No separate foundation or base plate is required. The 200 to 300 pound weight range should be accounted for when planning equipment and crew requirements for pole setting.

Cross arms and mounting brackets are available as options. Cross arms ship separately and must be attached by the customer after pole delivery. Poles do not ship with cross arms pre-installed.

The CCA pressure treatment protects the wood structure throughout its service life. The 1-year warranty covers this product from the date of purchase.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

Facility operators typically use this pole to support area lighting for outdoor athletic fields, practice facilities, and similar spaces where permanent pole-mounted fixtures are needed. The 16-foot above-grade height provides adequate mounting elevation for many recreational and small-field lighting layouts.

After installation, the pole itself requires no adjustment. Light aiming and fixture positioning are handled at the cross arm and fixture level. When cross arms are installed, fixture loads should be distributed to stay within the 240-pound-per-arm limit.

This pole is commonly paired with LED sports lighting fixtures mounted to the optional cross arms. Up to 6 fixtures per arm can be installed when total weight constraints are observed.

Safety, Certifications, and Warranty

This pole is manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification. Pressure treatment and preservative treatment meet American Wood Preservers Association standards.

The product includes a 1-year warranty.
