Our CCA Treated 20 Foot Wood Pole Class 5 Treated Ponderosa Pine Poles are grown, debarked, and treated in the United States. They are manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification. Poles are pressure treated and preservative treated to the latest American Wood Preservers Association standards to prevent damage from termites, decay and rot regardless of the species used.

Delivery is made with a flatbed truck and the customer is responsible for offloading. Offloading requires a fork lift or appropriate similar vehicle to offload – customer supplied. Customers are responsible for any costs associated with delivery rescheduling because of improper scheduling or not having the proper offloading equipment or area to store poles available at the time of delivery. Please contact a sales representative prior to purchasing to ensure all the project details are clear.

Pricing: Does not include cost of shipping. Shipping is available to the lower 48 USA states. We can supply a budgetary shipping quote or a firm shipping quote that is good for 14 days.

Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the pole), installation costs, or foundation design of light poles. Dimensions and specifications of poles are subject to change without notice but the pole top and butt dimensions will always be within ANSI specifications. Wood poles are the ideal option for most field projects as concrete poles require more frequent maintenance and replacement.

Please be advised that our wood poles are covered solely by a 1-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Product Overview

This 20-foot Class 5 wood pole is a CCA-treated Ponderosa pine utility pole for direct-burial light pole and utility pole installations. It provides 16 feet of height above grade with a 4-foot buried section.

The pole is grown, debarked, and treated in the United States. Its wood construction and direct-burial installation format align with common utility distribution, rural roadway lighting, agricultural property lighting, and recreational field lighting deployments.

Core Performance and Output

This pole has a Class 5 ANSI rating and is manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specifications. The pole weighs 200 to 300 pounds and uses a 19-inch minimum top circumference with a 25-inch minimum circumference measured 6 feet from the butt.

The minimum top outside diameter is 6.04 inches. The outside diameter 6 feet from the butt is 7.95 inches. Fixture loading, wind exposure, attachment hardware, and soil conditions must be evaluated for the installed configuration.

Adjustability and Control Options

This is a fixed-height 20-foot pole with a direct-burial installation method. The installed height above grade is determined by the specified 4-foot burial depth.

The pole does not include lighting controls, electrical components, or fixture mounting hardware. Any luminaire, bracket, wiring method, and control equipment must be matched to the project requirements.

Longevity and Reliability

The Ponderosa pine pole is pressure treated with CCA preservative treatment. Treatment is intended to protect the wood from termites, decay, and rot.

Field service life depends on installation quality, ground conditions, loading, and ongoing inspection. The pole includes a 1-year warranty.

Build Quality and Physical Characteristics

This pole is made from Ponderosa pine and has a natural tapered wood profile. Pole weight ranges from 200 to 300 pounds, which affects handling, lifting, and placement during installation.

The 20-foot total length includes 16 feet above grade and 4 feet below grade. Confirm access for delivery equipment, lifting equipment, excavation, and pole setting before installation begins.

Where This Product Fits Best

This pole fits direct-burial installations where a 16-foot above-grade wood support structure is appropriate. It is commonly used for utility and lower-height exterior lighting support applications within the listed pole family.

  • utility distribution
  • rural roadway lighting
  • agricultural property lighting
  • recreational field lighting
  • area lighting
  • municipal lighting

CCA treatment supports ground-contact installation. Site conditions, structural loading, and required attachment configuration remain project-specific considerations.

Installation and Long-Term Use

The pole is installed by direct burial with 4 feet below grade. The remaining 16 feet provides the above-grade support height.

Installers should verify the excavation, setting equipment, pole orientation, and attachment locations before the pole is set. Long-term use requires periodic inspection of the pole, ground line area, and attached equipment.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

In utility distribution and rural roadway lighting layouts, the 16-foot above-grade height establishes the equipment elevation after direct burial. Pole placement follows the project layout, attachment configuration, and site conditions.

For agricultural property lighting, area lighting, and recreational field lighting, layout patterns depend on the required support locations and the equipment mounted to the pole. A higher attachment load or greater wind exposure can affect the structural requirements for the installation.

Safety, Certifications, and Warranty

This pole is manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specifications. The preservative treatment follows the latest American Wood Preservers Association standards.

The pole has a 1-year warranty. Installation must account for pole weight, burial depth, site conditions, and the loading imposed by attached equipment.
