Product Overview

This is a 20-foot square fiberglass light pole with a 4-inch width and anchor base mounting configuration. The pole weighs 52 pounds and uses a fluoropolymer coating finish. It ships with a top cap included.

The base plate measures 9 1/16 inches by 9 1/16 inches with a bolt circle range of 7 5/8 to 9 3/8 inches. Wall thickness is .205 inches. Available colors are Bronze, Black, White, Gray, or custom finish.

Anchor bolts, base covers, and tenons are sold separately and must be specified based on site and fixture requirements.

Where This Product Fits Best

This pole is built for outdoor installations where corrosion resistance, weight, and wind loading matter. Fiberglass does not rust, rot, or corrode, which makes it suitable for coastal areas, chemical exposure environments, and sites with high moisture or salt content in the air.

The EPA ratings published for this pole extend from 70 mph through 130 mph wind speeds. At 90 mph, the rated EPA is 7.4. At 110 mph, it drops to 3.5. At 130 mph, EPA capacity is 1.4. These values determine how much fixture area can be mounted at each wind speed threshold based on local code requirements.

Fiberglass is non-conductive, which can be relevant in areas where electrical isolation is a concern or where poles are located near transformers, substations, or similar infrastructure.

Performance and Functional Considerations

Fiberglass poles are designed to flex under wind load and return to their original shape. This is an engineered behavior, not a defect. The material performs well under compression and tension without permanent deformation in high wind events.

The fluoropolymer coating is rated for 25-year UV protection. This finish resists breakdown from sun exposure over time and maintains appearance without repainting under normal outdoor conditions.

Fiberglass does not sustain flame because there is no fuel source in the material. This characteristic reduces fire risk in wildfire-prone areas or near combustible surroundings.

Installation and Long-Term Use

At 52 pounds, this pole is significantly lighter than steel equivalents of the same height. Crews can typically handle and position this pole with fewer personnel and lighter equipment, which affects jobsite logistics and rigging decisions.

The anchor base configuration requires a concrete foundation with embedded anchor bolts. The bolt circle range of 7 5/8 to 9 3/8 inches allows compatibility with multiple anchor bolt templates. Anchor bolts, base covers, and tenons must be selected and specified separately based on your fixture, foundation, and finish requirements.

Once installed, fiberglass requires minimal maintenance. The material does not degrade through oxidation or galvanic corrosion, eliminating inspection and touch-up cycles common with steel poles in harsh environments.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

The EPA values for this pole determine what fixtures can be mounted based on site wind zone. When selecting a fixture, the EPA of the luminaire and any mounting arm must fall within the pole''s rated EPA at the design wind speed for the location. This calculation is typically performed during project engineering or by code officials during permit review.

Fiberglass poles are often selected for parking lots, pathways, and site lighting in coastal or industrial zones where steel would corrode prematurely. The non-conductive property also makes them appropriate near electrical infrastructure where isolation is preferred.

The standard color options allow this pole to match existing site finishes without requiring field painting. Custom colors can be specified when standard options do not meet project requirements.

Safety, Certifications, and Warranty

This pole carries a 7-year warranty from LED Lighting Supply.

The fiberglass material is non-conductive and does not sustain flame. These characteristics reduce risk in certain installation environments but do not replace site-specific engineering review or code compliance verification.
