Why choose LED Lighting Supply LED Retrofit Kits?
1. Efficacy (Lumens Per Watt) LED Retrofit Kits
150 lm/w
165 lm/w
Luminous efficacy is the true measure of a bulb’s efficiency. It indicates the lumens produced for every watt of electricity consumed. LEDs are more efficient than traditional bulbs with a higher luminous efficacy. High quality LEDs have awesome efficacy ratings.Â
We have HID to LED Retrofit Kit solutions that attain 165 lm/w. We also offer fluorescent tube replacement options at 140 lm/w.Â
Trade off between initial cost and long term savings?
A higher efficiency LED product costs more than lower efficiency units. The savings over the life of the product is more than the initial investment needed to upgrade. So if you're looking to maximize savings when converting to LED, choose the higher efficiency product.
2. Replace Metal Halide - and keep your fixture
400W HID
1000W HID
Retrofitting your HID fixtures is as simple as a bulb and ballast replacement. Most can install in under 20 minutes. Our kits last years and perform as well as a new fixture.
Retrofitting makes sense if you want to maintain the look of your fixtures.
3. High Voltage up to 480V
277V - 480V
Are you trying to replace fixtures that are higher voltages, 277V to 480V? We have solutions that cover these higher voltage installations. Our constant current drivers handle everything from 100 Volts up to to 480 Volts. The standard driver in our kits are 100V-277V. We can handle single or 3-phase power as well. Talk to our sales engineers and we can get your lighting situation taken care of.
480V High Voltage Options
Our higher voltage solutions handle both single phase and 3 phase 480V installations. If you have voltage above 277V, tell our sales engineers so we can specify the proper driver.
4. Color Temperature Options
5000K
Color temperature or correlated color temperature, measures the temperature of a light source. The Kelvin scale measures a bulb's color temperature. Bulbs with a low color temperature produce warm light (in the red, orange, and yellow spectrum). Those with a high color temperature produce cool light (in blue and white spectrum).
We offer both 4000K and 5000K fixtures for indoor lighting. Not sure which one you should select? We can help!
LED Color Choice
To replace Metal Halide, 5000K is a great color choice. If you would like a warmer light, choose 4000K. HPS lights are around 2300K. Moving to 4000K or 5000K will greatly improve the quality of indoor light.
5. Light Quality: Color Rendering Index
80 CRI
90 CRI
Color rendering index defines the color of light. It tells us how well a light source will reveal the colors of items compared to sunlight (the ideal light source). When it comes to HID lamps, people usually complain about one thing: poor light color. Light color is important in some indoor and outdoor applications. It has a huge impact on clarity and contrast.
Most of our LED Retrofit Kits are between CRI 70 and 85. We can special order almost any CRI you might need.Â
6. Replace fluorescent tubes
LED Tubes
LED Troffer Retrofit Kits
Looking to replace fluorescent tubes. We offer three options:
1. Magnetic Strip Retrofit Kits install on the surface of the troffer with magnets. Super bright and efficient, they are a preferred option to replace fluorescent tubes.
2. LED Tubes use the existing sockets and replace all the fluorescent components.Â
3. LED Troffers retrofit your existing troffer.Â
What's the best fluorescent replacement option?
All options have their strengths. Tell us what you're looking to do and we can offer you options and solutions that make sense for you.
7. Works with Lighting Controls
Daylight Harvesters
Smart Controls
Motion Sensors and other controls reduce costs by dimming or turning off lights.
PIR and microwave motion sensors can turn lights on and off / dimmed depending on if it detects motion. To dim, the retrofit needs a 0-10V dimmable driver or triac driver. Unlike traditional lighting, dimming LED's is simple and does not affect the retrofit kit.
And if you're trying to save money, nothing saves more money than a bulb that's off or 10% lit.
8. Speciality LED Bulbs
Bollard Bulbs
PAR Bulbs
We offer traditional post top 360 degree LED Replacement bulbs, Bollard Bulbs and PAR bulbs. Our Post top bulbs support 100-277V installations and can replace up to 400W HID.
We can offer E26 and E39 base options on some of our bulbs as well. So replacing Metal Halide, HPS or Halogen is simple to do.
Frequently
Asked
Questions
What is an LED retrofit kit?
A Retrofit Kit is a LED Kit that replaces the existing bulbs and sometime ballast within an existing lighting fixture. Retrofit Kits could be fluorescent fixtures, metal halide fixtures, halogen fixtures and even incandescent fixtures. There are different kits available for each application.
Why would you retrofit a fixture and not replace it?
There are times when replacing is not an option. Some cities have rules that if a fixture is replaced, everything must be brought up to code. So retrofitting it makes perfect sense. Or maybe you have a lot of money invested in a particular style of fixture. Replacing it would change the aesthetic appearance. Retrofitting is the best solution.
Are retrofit kits as good as new fixtures?
Yes. At least the ones we sell are. Our retrofit kits are all UL or ETL listed and DLC Qualified. They all come with at least a 5 year warranty, and some even have a 10 year warranty. They have all the same components of LED inside a new fixture. They all use high quality drivers and high quality LED chips.Â
How do you install retrofit LED lights?
Installation is typically as easy as if you were replacing burnt out bulb and ballasts. Typically you would replace the ballast with the LED Driver and the bulb with the LED Bulb, Lamp or Head. For the most part, no fixture modifications are required. LED Retrofit Kits are designed to replace old components inside existing fixtures.
