Delivery is made with a flatbed truck and the customer is responsible for offloading. Offloading requires a forklift or appropriate similar machine (customer supplied). Customer is responsible for any costs associated with delivery rescheduling because of improper scheduling or not having the proper offloading equipment available at the time of delivery.

Pricing: Does not include cost of shipping. Shipping is available to the lower 48 USA states. We can supply a budgetary shipping quote or a firm shipping quote that is good for 14 days to your delivery location.

Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the piling), installation costs, or foundation design of piling. Dimensions and specifications of pilings are subject to change without notice but the tip and butt dimensions will always be within ASTM specifications. While our main product line is southern yellow pine, we at times are able to offer other species including douglas fir and red pine. All poles are treated with CCA unless specified otherwise. Our standard treatment is .60 pounds per cubic foot.

Please be advised that our wood pilings are covered solely by a 1-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the pilings are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Product Overview

This is a 45-foot Class C wood piling manufactured from Southern Yellow Pine and pressure-treated with CCA at a retention level of .60 pounds per cubic foot. The piling is grown, debarked, and treated in the United States and manufactured to ASTM D25 standards.

Class C pilings are the smallest diameter class in the standard classification system. This piling measures a minimum of 6 inches in diameter at the tip and 12 inches in diameter at a point 3 feet from the butt end. Circumference minimums are 19 inches at the tip and 38 inches at the 3-foot measurement point. Weight ranges from 1,235 to 1,460 pounds.

Where This Product Fits Best

Class C pilings at 45 feet are sized for foundation and structural support applications where moderate load capacity is acceptable and full Class A or B dimensions are not required. The .60 CCA treatment level is the standard retention for ground contact and freshwater exposure.

Southern Yellow Pine accepts pressure treatment effectively and is a common species for piling applications in marine, dock, bridge, and building foundation work. For applications involving saltwater, brackish water, or heavy marine borer exposure, higher CCA retention levels are available as optional treatments at .80, 1.0, 1.5, or 2.5 pounds per cubic foot.

Performance and Functional Considerations

The .60 CCA retention level protects against decay and insect damage in ground contact and freshwater environments. This is the baseline treatment level for most inland and freshwater structural applications. Saltwater or brackish water installations typically require higher retention levels to resist marine borers.

The 45-foot length accommodates deeper embedment requirements or taller exposed sections depending on site conditions. Class C diameter specifications provide a smaller cross-section than Class A or B pilings, which affects load-bearing capacity and is a factor in structural engineering calculations.

Installation and Long-Term Use

Weight at this length ranges from approximately 1,235 to 1,460 pounds, requiring appropriate lifting and driving equipment. The tapered profile from butt to tip is consistent with standard driven piling installation methods.

CCA-treated Southern Yellow Pine is a durable material in protected applications but will weather over time when exposed. The treatment prevents biological degradation but does not stop surface checking or mechanical wear. Long-term performance depends on correct embedment depth, soil or water conditions, and load parameters matching the Class C structural capacity.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

These pilings are driven into soil or water substrates to provide vertical structural support. Once installed, they function as load-bearing columns for docks, piers, boardwalks, building foundations, or bridge substructures. The installed piling is static and requires no adjustment or interaction during normal service.

Site conditions determine whether the .60 CCA retention is adequate or whether a higher optional treatment level is needed. If the piling will be partially or fully submerged in saltwater, specifying a higher retention rate at the time of order addresses marine borer protection requirements.

Safety, Certifications, and Warranty

This piling is manufactured to ASTM D25 standards and treated to American Wood Preservers Association standards. CCA-treated wood requires handling precautions including dust control and proper disposal of cutoffs.

LED Lighting Supply provides a 1-year warranty on this product.
