Delivery is made with a flatbed truck and the customer is responsible for offloading. Offloading requires a forklift or appropriate similar machine (customer supplied). Customer is responsible for any costs associated with delivery rescheduling because of improper scheduling or not having the proper offloading equipment available at the time of delivery.
Pricing: Does not include cost of shipping. Shipping is available to the lower 48 USA states. We can supply a budgetary shipping quote or a firm shipping quote that is good for 14 days to your delivery location.
Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the piling), installation costs, or foundation design of piling. Dimensions and specifications of pilings are subject to change without notice but the tip and butt dimensions will always be within ASTM specifications. While our main product line is southern yellow pine, we at times are able to offer other species including douglas fir and red pine. All poles are treated with CCA unless specified otherwise. Our standard treatment is .60 pounds per cubic foot.
Please be advised that our wood pilings are covered solely by a 1-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the pilings are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Product Overview
This 45-foot Class A piling is manufactured from Southern Yellow Pine and treated with CCA (Chromated Copper Arsenate) at a retention level of .60 pounds per cubic foot. The piling is grown, debarked, and treated in the United States and manufactured to ASTM D25 standards.
Class A designation indicates the highest structural capacity within the ASTM D25 classification system. This piling measures a minimum of 9 inches in diameter at the tip and 14 inches in diameter at 3 feet from the butt end. Circumference minimums are 28 inches at the tip and 44 inches at 3 feet from the butt.
Weight for this piling falls within a range of 1,990 to 2,330 pounds. Treatment is performed to current American Wood Preservers Association standards.
Where This Product Fits Best
A 45-foot Class A piling is appropriate for applications requiring substantial embedment depth and high load-bearing capacity. The Class A rating provides the largest minimum dimensions available at this length, making it suitable for heavy structural loads and deep-drive conditions.
The standard .60 CCA treatment level is intended for ground contact and freshwater applications. Optional treatment levels of .80, 1.0, 1.5, and 2.5 pounds per cubic foot are available for conditions requiring higher preservative retention, such as saltwater exposure or marine environments with active biological degradation.
Performance and Functional Considerations
Southern Yellow Pine is a dense softwood species commonly specified for piling applications due to its treatability and structural properties. CCA treatment protects against fungal decay and insect damage in ground-contact and submerged conditions.
The minimum diameter and circumference values defined by ASTM D25 for Class A pilings ensure consistent structural performance across delivered units. Actual dimensions may exceed these minimums based on natural taper and individual timber characteristics.
Weight variation within the 1,990 to 2,330 pound range reflects natural density differences in the wood and moisture content at time of delivery. Handling and driving equipment should be rated for the upper end of this range.
Installation and Long-Term Use
Pilings of this size and weight require crane or heavy equipment handling during placement. Driving methods vary by soil condition and project specification, but this Class A piling is dimensioned for pile-driving hammer installation in most soil types.
CCA-treated wood is a pressure-treated material. Standard handling precautions apply during cutting, drilling, or machining. Waste material should be disposed of according to local regulations for treated wood products.
Once installed, this piling requires no scheduled maintenance under normal service conditions. The CCA treatment provides long-term resistance to biological degradation in ground-contact and submerged environments.
How This Fixture Is Commonly Used
This piling is typically driven as a foundation element for docks, piers, bulkheads, bridges, and building foundations in areas with soft or unstable soils. The 45-foot length allows for deep embedment while leaving sufficient exposed length above grade or waterline for structural connections.
Class A pilings are often specified when design loads exceed the capacity of Class B or lower classifications, or when soil conditions require a larger cross-section to resist bending and buckling during installation. The larger butt diameter also provides more surface area for end-bearing applications.
When site conditions involve saltwater, brackish water, or aggressive marine organisms, the optional higher CCA retention levels should be evaluated based on project requirements and local environmental exposure.
Safety, Certifications, and Warranty
This piling is manufactured to ASTM D25 standards and treated to current American Wood Preservers Association standards. These standards govern dimensional tolerances, species requirements, and preservative treatment protocols.
This product carries a 1-year warranty.
