Product Overview

This is an 18-foot fiberglass light pole with a square profile measuring 4 inches wide. The pole weighs 47 pounds and uses an anchor base mounting configuration with a 9 1/16 inch by 9 1/16 inch base plate. The bolt circle accepts spacing from 7 5/8 inches to 9 3/8 inches.

The pole is finished with a fluoropolymer coating and is available in bronze, black, white, gray, or custom colors. Wall thickness is .205 inches. A top cap is included with the pole. Anchor bolts, base covers, and tenons are sold separately.

Where This Product Fits Best

This pole is rated for high wind zone applications. EPA values are provided across wind speeds from 70 mph through 140 mph, allowing fixture selection based on local wind load requirements. At 70 mph, the pole supports 18.4 EPA. At 140 mph, the allowable EPA is 1.1.

Fiberglass construction makes this pole appropriate for corrosive environments where steel would degrade over time. The material does not rust, rot, or corrode, which suits coastal sites, chemical exposure areas, or locations with sustained moisture contact.

The non-conductive property of fiberglass is relevant in applications near electrical infrastructure or where grounding conditions present concerns.

Performance and Functional Considerations

Fiberglass offers high strength in both compression and tension relative to weight. At 47 pounds, this pole is significantly lighter than steel equivalents, which affects handling, rigging, and lift requirements during installation.

The material is designed to flex under wind load and return to its original shape rather than permanently deforming or fracturing. This behavior contributes to long-term structural integrity in areas subject to sustained or gusting high winds.

The fluoropolymer coating provides surface protection. The pole does not sustain flame, as the fiberglass material contains no fuel source for combustion.

Installation and Long-Term Use

The anchor base configuration requires embedded anchor bolts compatible with the 7 5/8 inch to 9 3/8 inch bolt circle. The base plate measures 9 1/16 inches square. Anchor bolts are not included and must be specified separately based on foundation design and local requirements.

The 47-pound weight allows for installation with lighter equipment or manual handling in some conditions. Tenons and base covers are also sold separately, so the pole can be configured with the mounting hardware and accessories appropriate to the selected fixture and site requirements.

The coating is rated for 25-year UV protection. The fiberglass material does not degrade in the same way as wood or uncoated steel over time, reducing long-term maintenance considerations.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

Facilities use this pole where corrosion resistance, wind rating, or low weight are determining factors. Parking lots, pathways, and perimeter lighting in coastal or industrial environments are common applications.

The EPA ratings at each wind speed tier allow site engineers to match fixture selections to the pole''s load capacity based on local building codes or wind zone maps. Fixture mounting requires a separately ordered tenon matched to the luminaire''s arm or mounting configuration.

The four standard color options and custom color availability allow the pole to match existing site standards or architectural requirements without field painting.

Safety, Certifications, and Warranty

This pole carries a 7-year warranty from LED Lighting Supply.

The fiberglass material is non-conductive and does not sustain flame. These properties are inherent to the construction and are not based on applied treatments or coatings.
