Product Overview

This 8-foot fiberglass crossarm measures 5 inches by 5 inches and mounts to fiberglass or wood poles with diameters ranging from 5 to 9 inches. The crossarm weighs 33 pounds and ships with all connection hardware required for pole attachment, including one crossarm bracket, two 12-inch by 3/4-inch threaded rods, two 6-3/8-inch by 3/4-inch bolts, and two end caps.

The crossarm is available in bronze, black, white, gray, or custom color finishes. All connection hardware is galvanized. The fiberglass construction is non-conductive and coated with UV-protective paint rated for 25 years.

Where This Product Fits Best

This crossarm is designed for pole-mounted fixture installations where the pole diameter falls between 5 and 9 inches. It is compatible with both fiberglass and wood poles. The 8-foot length provides substantial horizontal reach for mounting fixtures, banners, or signage hardware at opposite ends of the arm.

The fiberglass material is appropriate for installations exposed to moisture, salt air, or other corrosive conditions. The non-conductive properties make it suitable for use near electrical infrastructure where contact risk must be minimized.

Performance and Functional Considerations

Fiberglass offers compression and tension strength exceeding equivalent steel while remaining significantly lighter. This crossarm is engineered to flex under wind load and return to its original shape rather than permanently deforming or breaking. The material does not rot, rust, or corrode over time.

The crossarm does not sustain flame because the material provides no fuel source for fire. The UV-protective coating maintains finish integrity and structural performance through extended outdoor exposure.

Installation and Long-Term Use

The included bracket attaches to the pole using the two 12-inch threaded rods, which pass through the pole. The crossarm then bolts to the bracket using the two 6-3/8-inch bolts. End caps finish both ends of the crossarm after installation. All hardware is galvanized for corrosion resistance.

At 33 pounds, this crossarm can typically be handled and positioned by a two-person crew without mechanical lift assistance during the mounting process. Fiberglass does not require retreatment or refinishing under normal service conditions.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

Facilities use this crossarm to mount light fixtures, security cameras, or signage hardware on existing or new pole installations. The 8-foot span allows equipment to be positioned away from the pole centerline, which is often necessary for lighting distribution or camera sightlines.

The color options allow the crossarm to match the pole or surrounding infrastructure. Custom colors can be specified when standard finishes do not meet site requirements.

Safety, Certifications, and Warranty

This crossarm is covered by a 7-year warranty. The fiberglass construction is non-conductive and fire resistant. The galvanized hardware resists corrosion in outdoor environments.
