Our 50 foot Class 1 CCA Treated Southern Yellow Pine Poles are grown, debarked, and treated in the United States. They are manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification. Poles are treated with preservatives to the latest American Wood Preservers Association standards to ensure rot and decay prevention. The long term durability of a wood utility pole is one of its main benefits

These 50 ft wood poles are perfect for sports fields, baseball fields or used as utility poles. You can add 1-2 light arms per side, 2-4 in total, but no more than 2 per side. Each arm can accommodate 240 lbs per arm. The number of arms and lights depends on the class of the utility pole you select. The pole length will determine how significant the taper is as with all timber utility poles.

Options Available:

Cross Arms (2-4 per pole, 1-2 per side) and Mounting Brackets. The customer is responsible for mounting Cross Arm after the poles are delivered. Poles do not ship with cross arms attached.

These are the lights we typically mount on the cross arms. Up to 6 lights per arm, not to exceed 240 total pounds of fixtures and hardware.

Delivery is made with a standard flatbed truck depending on pole lengths and the customer is responsible for offloading. Offloading requires a fork lift or appropriate similar vehicle to offload ? customer supplied. Customer is responsible for any costs associated with delivery rescheduling because of improper scheduling or not having the proper offloading equipment available at time of delivery. Installation should be done by a trained professional.

Pricing: Does not include price of shipping. Shipping is available to the lower 48 USA states. We can supply a budgetary shipping quote or a firm shipping quote that is good for 14 days.

Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the pole), installation costs, or foundation design of light poles. Dimensions and specifications of poles are subject to change without notice but the pole top and butt dimensions will always be within ANSI specifications. Wood poles are the ideal option for most field projects as concrete poles require more frequent maintenance and replacement. While our main product line is southern yellow pine, we at times are able to offer other species including douglas fir and red pine. CCA treatment generally will result in the poles being free of insects for decades to come.

Please be advised that our wood poles are covered solely by a 1 year-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Product Overview

This is a 50-foot Class 1 Southern Yellow Pine wood pole manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification. The pole is CCA treated to American Wood Preservers Association standards for rot and decay prevention. Total pole weight ranges from 2,350 to 2,770 pounds.

The pole is designed for direct burial installation with 7 feet below grade and 43 feet of usable height above grade. Minimum circumference at the top is 27 inches (8.594-inch diameter), tapering to a minimum of 45 inches (14.324-inch diameter) at 6 feet from the butt.

These poles are grown, debarked, and treated in the United States. Cross arms and mounting brackets are available separately and must be installed by the customer after delivery. Poles ship without cross arms attached.

Where This Product Fits Best

Class 1 poles at this height are commonly installed at sports fields, baseball fields, and utility applications where elevated mounting positions are required. The 43-foot above-grade height provides clearance for area lighting across large open spaces.

The direct burial design eliminates the need for a concrete foundation or anchor base. Sites must accommodate the equipment and access required to handle and set a pole in the 2,350 to 2,770 pound weight range.

Performance and Functional Considerations

This pole supports 2 to 4 cross arms total, with a maximum of 2 cross arms per side. Each cross arm is rated to hold up to 240 pounds of attached fixtures and hardware. The load rating applies to the combined weight of luminaires, brackets, and any associated mounting hardware on each arm.

CCA treatment protects against rot and decay over time. Wood utility poles taper naturally along their length, with the degree of taper more pronounced on longer poles like this 50-foot configuration.

Installation and Long-Term Use

Installation requires direct burial to a depth of 7 feet. Proper hole diameter and backfill procedures should account for soil conditions at the installation site. Handling and setting the pole requires equipment capable of managing loads in the 2,350 to 2,770 pound range.

Cross arms must be attached on-site after delivery. The customer is responsible for all cross arm and fixture mounting. Each arm position can support up to 6 luminaires provided the total weight of fixtures and hardware does not exceed 240 pounds per arm.

How This Fixture Is Commonly Used

Once installed, this pole serves as the permanent structure for elevated area lighting. The 43-foot above-grade height positions luminaires well above playing surfaces and activity areas. Cross arm placement determines the spread pattern of mounted fixtures across the coverage zone.

Field operators typically access the pole for fixture maintenance, aiming adjustments, or lamp replacement using bucket trucks or similar elevated work platforms. The wood construction allows for field attachment of junction boxes, conduit, or cable management hardware using standard fastening methods.

Safety, Certifications, and Warranty
