Where This Product Fits Best
This 40 foot Ponderosa Pine pole is suited for outdoor lighting installations in commercial and industrial environments. It is commonly used where a tall, durable mounting structure is required for area lighting, roadway lighting, or utility distribution.
The direct burial design supports use in open lots, parking areas, sports fields, and perimeter lighting applications. The CCA treatment allows for installation in locations exposed to weather, moisture, and soil contact.
Class 3 rating and heavy-duty construction make this pole appropriate for supporting lighting fixtures, crossarms, and other utility hardware in demanding outdoor settings.
Performance and Functional Considerations
The CCA treatment protects the Ponderosa Pine pole from termites, decay, and rot, supporting long-term use in outdoor environments. The pressure treatment process meets current American Wood Preservers Association standards.
With a 40 foot total length and 34 feet above grade, the pole provides significant mounting height for lighting or utility equipment. The 6 foot burial depth is designed for direct embedment in soil, eliminating the need for anchor bases or foundation hardware.
Minimum pole top and butt diameters ensure compatibility with standard mounting brackets and hardware for lighting and utility applications. The pole weight and dimensions should be considered for handling and installation planning.
Installation and Long-Term Use
This pole is designed for direct burial installation. Six feet of the pole must be set below grade to achieve the specified 34 feet above grade height.
Proper equipment is required for handling, transporting, and setting the pole due to its weight and length. The CCA treatment supports long-term resistance to decay and insect damage in soil contact.
Routine inspection of the pole and any attached hardware is recommended to maintain structural integrity over time. The pole is suitable for use with standard outdoor lighting fixtures and utility hardware designed for wood pole mounting.
How This Fixture Is Commonly Used
After installation, this 40 foot wood pole provides a stable, elevated mounting point for area lights, floodlights, or utility lines. The direct burial design means there are no exposed anchor bolts or base plates at grade level.
Operators can attach lighting fixtures, crossarms, or other hardware using standard wood pole mounting brackets. The treated Ponderosa Pine construction allows the pole to remain in service in outdoor environments with minimal maintenance requirements.
In day-to-day operation, the pole supports lighting or utility equipment at a consistent height, with the CCA treatment helping to prevent deterioration from weather and soil exposure.
