LED Lighting Supply Scholarship

LEDLightingSupply’s scholarship goal is to provide guidance for business, engineering, and environmental science students. We offer this opportunity for all of those students who relate to the goal of LED Lighting Supply which includes those listed above.

The winning student will be awarded a $1000 scholarship for their efforts, which can then be used for tuition, books, or living expenses. Before you write or submit your work, please read our “about us” page to better understand our mission and purpose behind LEDLightingSupply. To be eligible to win, please read below.

Eligibility

  1. Only students located within the United States. You must be a US Citizen. Only active college students eligible.
  2. Must be registered full time for the Fall 2018 semester.
  3. Content must be original and written by you. No plagiarism.
  4. Minimum GPA Requirement: 2.5.
  5. Military academies are ineligible.
  6. Applicant must be enrolled in a program that is two years in length or longer.

 

How to Enter

Students are required to write a well researched essay with a minimum of 1000 words on one of the following topics:

  • Why converting to LED is good for the country and nation. Think of the economic and environmental reasons on why conversion makes sense.
  • Cost / Benefit Analysis of Converting to LED Lights – What should business owners consider when analyzing the reasons to convert to LED for their businesses. Think in terms of a factory owner, warehouse owner or anyone who spends a lot of money on lights every month.
  • The benefits to the environment of converting to LED. For example, calculate the reduced energy consumption if people convert their light fixtures from Metal Halide to a LED Retrofit Solution.
  • Analyze the existing lighting technologies and rate them in terms of performance, savings, reliability and functionality.
  • How factories and warehouse facilities can dramatically reduce their energy spend by converting over to LED.
  • Great ideas for making the planet greener – things we can do as individuals or thing corporations can do to help the environment.
  • Climate Change: Steps we can take as individuals to make a difference.

  • Phone Number
  • Name of school
  • Your current major
  • Current GPA
  • Essay of 1000+ words on one of the listed topics submitted as a text document.

The winner will be chosen by our team. The funds are then sent directly to the winner’s school for collection within 14 days of the announcement. Stay tuned!
